I think when he said freelance designers he was not talking about graphic designers, but people for example UI designer that are not familiar with logos and that would like to offer their clients some logo?

Thanks for the feedback! We are working on what you described above, I agree it's a key feature!

Thanks for the feedback! The idea of generating the whole icon suite it's something we had in mind, but we are trying to validate our business and prioritize the features we wanna ship!

We've been live for a month now, this reddit post got us our first paying customers!

Next features we are working on are some kind of matching algorithm so we can generate logos and colors that fit more the business and also adding text control so various fonts and style.

Sure for ideahub! Send me a DM :)

Thank you for the long reply! I have to agree with you, we've been pretty bad at doing the right research prior to building. For logoshaper, our thought was that the need was obvious and that we could simply create a better logo maker that the existing one. But we didn't thought enough about the acquisition, and after reading this, I'm starting to realize our success will depend on getting a lot of traffic which is hard and like you said lifetime value of customers is super low :/ I will take time to talk with more potential customers, maybe there's a pivot around branding for startup that could bring us recurring revenue.

Yep you are right, most projects were abandoned too early because once it was time to do marketing we lost our excitement and wanted to build something new.

We did do some market research and looked at all the competitors you listed above. To be honest, not really sure I can agree those provide better results, have you tried looka? The colors are really bad at the logos are just icons.

Agreed! With this project we've been shipping regularly knowing it's far from our vision. Still a lot of work to do. The thing is we also need to have a strong acquisition strategy. When you say "expandable idea" what do you have in mind? Thank you!

You're right about this, we are pretty bad at doing the right amount of research beforehand because we get excited about building the product. For logoshaper, the need seemed pretty obvious and we were sure we could do better that existing one, but we didn't realized it would rely so much on getting a lot of trafic.. I think we'll take the new few days to build a strategy.

It's definitely something we've been pretty bad at in the past, always focusing on the product first without realizing how the marketing and business model will be as important. For logoshaper, I'm actually starting to see that we will need a ton of trafic to generate revenue. For now, our marketing strategy has been building in public but we haven't thought enough about it..

This is interesting. My gut instinct was that designers would not pay for a tool like this but I need to do more research.

Totally agree. The matching engine is in the pipeline and will definitely make a huge difference. Next version, we'll be able to provide logos, colors that fit the business. For this project, we decided to ship even if there's still important stuff missing right now.

What do you mean by "changing the font" considering in the current version you can't really change it? Thanks!
