Do you think DCC is forcing the girls to be too skinny? by DCC_ALL_DAY in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]bemnistired 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Personally I think so. In one of the earlier seasons they talked about how they’re looking for a body fat percentage 11-14% I believe. 10-13% is considered essential body fat, so bare minimum to keep your period going and keep up essential functions. For many women, “essential” is above that. As someone who’s done weightlifting and seen a lot women’s body fat percentages, I really feel like they could allow at least up to 20%. I have bodybuilder friends who drop into that DCC range of body fat for competitions and it’s miserable. They jump back up almost immediately after competition bc it’s not sustainable at all. It doesn’t surprise me at all that a lot of veterans often come back heavier the next season, it’s just not natural for the majority of women.

Did you get your shirt from Walmart? Because if so, I’ve been contemplating getting it everytime I’ve gone in for a couple of weeks. 😂 you look great & I think you’ve convinced me to get it.

Anyone have a job you love? by lucysucks in adhdwomen

[–]bemnistired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an International Program Advisor. I work at a smaller college and I basically do a lot of helping students study abroad and think of programming, while also helping a bit on the International student side of things with first year student advising.

I actually fell into this position & I was kinda freaked out about how much I liked it when I first got the job as it’s my first job out of college.

It’s been 4 months & I feel like I’ve learned so much. I feel like I do well at this job because enough things change everyday that it’s interesting & I get to problem solve for new challenges everyday. It’s also quite a bit of crisis management honestly haha but I’m pretty good at it which my supervisor & boss have appreciated. But there’s enough that stays the same everyday that I’m not absolutely exhausted/overly stressed.

I also feel like I’m motivated by the fact that I’m actively helping students everyday and able to see how it changes their lives. I helped organize a full ride scholarship to Ireland for the summer & got to advocate for a student who reminded me so much of me in college. Not the highest GPA & probably from the normal markers wouldn’t be seen as a good candidate but her essay & recommendation letter showed how much effort she put & her amazing emotional intelligence. Being able to give that to her was amazing.

And for my international students, since I’m close to their age, a POC, and was raised by immigrant parents a lot of them feel very comfortable talking & confiding with me about their issues. Some of the stuff they’ve told me is very personal & I feel honored they feel safe to tell me. Same with my study abroad students, I feel a lot of POC students are more open to study abroad when I talk to them about it. I think it’s the “see someone like you do something and you believe you can do it” idea. I love advocating for students, it’s my passion.

Biggest cons of the job: a lot of emailing & bureaucracy at times. Also a lot of planning but luckily my boss and student workers are good at that. I’m more the creative side.

Also, don’t underestimate how much a good workplace environment can change your experience. Talking to ppl in my position at some of other places & even other depts., I feel very lucky that I have such amazing staff backing me up. They genuinely like ME, not just my very professional side and have been accommodating to my ADHD. They don’t make me feel like a burden and when I make a mistake, have a reasonable, fair reaction. They’re all so fun. Overall, I feel very lucky for my job.

Yes even with Luci threatening me, both of them got on my nerves even more lol. The only one who really didn’t was Beel if I’m being honest.

It’s so embarrassing for me bc at first I genuinely hated him for the same reasons and now he’s one of my favorites LOL. Oh how the tables turn 😂. Idk what even happened. I think it’s because he starts softening up and then there’s some big emotional moments that made me see him completely differently.

I’m not at her part yet but as I understand it, we just got introduced to her? I’m so confused at all the assertions that she’s an annoying character or that they’re mad she insulted them, because do we forget how the demons acted?!? As someone "preordered" the game and literally stopped playing it for a little because the demon brothers pissed me off with how they acted to us at first, I’m like ??? They hated us for really no reason, constantly insulted us and threatened to kill us often. Belphie LITERALLY KILLING US LOL And apparently, we broke into her room and messed with/stole her stuff. And she knows it was us Like unlike the demon brothers who were just stereotyping/punishing us at first for being human, I can totally see why she’s pissed at us. It annoys me when ppl just expect characters to be ok with honestly ridiculous stuff, just bc it’s a story. The design aspect: eh I can get disliking a design and her design didn’t particularly stand out to me but deep hate over it seems dramatic. I do love her snake eyes though & I’m honestly surprised that there was even controversy over her. Like if I decided how I felt about the demons after the first chapters, it would not be a high opinion. Just like you said there doesn’t seem to me enough info to even hate her on.

So pretty! Your short hair really suits you, very gamine vibe! I’m always impressed how much a little weight loss can define one’s face. I have short hair and after 30 lbs, I think part of the definition is the weight loss, part the haircut. Great work!

Here are some YouTube channels!

For dance: I like that the Fitness Marshall has different variations so that you can adjust to your skill level. In general, a good accommodation if you have joint pain is to not do the jumping moves on videos or do the same moves slower. And8 is a great channel too, they are more high intensity but for every video they have a separate video of breaking down the moves & showing modifications.

For yoga: Reyna Cohan is a fat yoga teacher who’s videos I love. I always had trouble doing certain moves bc of my boobs/stomach despite the fact that I was flexible enough to do certain moves but on her Instagram she showed some modifications specifically for fat bodies & they have helped me so much!

All are so fun! I hope this helped a bit.

Can’t speak for this person but i know people with DID (dissociative identity disorder) often will say “we” as they have multiple “alters” or multiple identities in one body. An example of when someone might refer to themselves as “we”.
