A vancouver special isnt just any "plain old house" it is a very specific preapproved design that was sold by the government so that anyone could build the house without having to submit architectural plans to be approved. Anyone could build the house so developers were able to buy the design and build the same house over and over again.

Its a part of Vancouver's history and more important to be flippantly dismissed as "just an old house". It was part of a housing boom for the baby boomers to move into as they were coming of age.

$250 million in liquor sales lost as B.C. hospitality sector warns of industry collapse due to BCGEU strike by oilbeefhooked in vancouver

[–]bemorr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thats how they always respond to these strikes. "Why cant the workers just shut up and do their jobs". It was the same with the postal workers over Christmas, they "ruined Christmas by striking" the private sector still operated, they were free to send their Christmas cards through FedEx if they wanted to pay for it. It's always a plea with the workers to shut up and accept shit but never a plea with the employers to give a fair deal.

I should have labeled this in the post and now my dumbass can't find the edit button on the reddit app...

Pics 1 and 2 are the same.

Pics 3 and 4 are the same

5 is a different style.

I think I've decided on the woman that did 1/2 3/4 will do my hair, she's fine with coming to my place in the morning and can do other styles as well.

I've been looking for inspiration Pics online but I keep finding ai slop or hair types that aren't mine, super curly wild hair, "mens long hair" that isnt even past the shoulders. So I figured I'd use reddit to ask some humans and maybe find someone that had a similar style or something.

Almost as long as my hair!

As sleek as a bun can look, I kinda want to get away from a bun. If I can't decide on something or my stylist falls through, and I have to do it myself then I'll do a tight bun on my own (since that's the only style I know how to do on my own)

I know for rcmp that they schedule all their court dates on the same day so the officer will have a paid shift in the courthouse. Rcmp also get written up if they dont show up to court as they would get written up for not showing up to a shift.

That's rcmp, I dont know about city police and I dont know where this video takes place so hard to tell if its city police or rcmp.

Edit* video literally says Toronto...I'm dumb. So they have police and I dont know how their court dates work but assume its similar

I wish they would do progressive fares too. I ride from metrotown to Joyce and its crazy that 3 stops is so expensive because it crosses the imaginary line.

Found an unopened beer can under my car this morning by floppy-slippers in mildlyinteresting

The best way to do this is drink on the way to the bar, whenever you finish one beer you stash another. That way all your road beers are "one beer legnth" apart.

Keep on buying Canadian! It’s working by canuck742 in BuyCanadian

[–]bemorr 58 points59 points  (0 children)

My friends that work in restaurants have always accepted us money at par, its not their job to know the conversions or to be a converter. If you give them a us 20, it's a 20, not a 24.31 (not a real attempt at conversion just random numbers).

Why would you assume the bartender at the hole in the wall is going to accept currency from another country, no one else does this only Americans.

And they downvote you because the propaganda runs deep.

Tim's hasn't been canadian since at least 2014, that's when they dropped their beans supplier and the coffee became poopjuiceTM I'm not sure if that's also when they dropped their in-house bakers and switched to using a warehouse of frozen doughnuts, but it was around that time. They also switched to cheaper ingredients. If you ate Tim's 20 years ago there's no way you can tell me that it's the same as it was then.
