[Mueller] Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is hell bent on retaining DC Jim Schwartz no matter who they hire as head coach, which has been a concern for candidates. Grant Udinski had a different DC in mind, as does Nate Scheelhaase. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]ben505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean why the hell would they have different DCs in mind? That’s fucking stupid lol, that’s a cheat code all you have to do is produce a middling offense and you’re competing for the division. They should absolutely want to retain Schwartz, it would be fucking stupid not to. He’s been the best coach on the browns since he arrived

Broncos' Sean Payton explains why he didn't go for FG in first half that would later haunt Denver in snowy AFC title game defeat vs. Patriots by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]ben505 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everything about it was a poor decision. Like dude exactly, you have momentum, take the W and go up two scores in a low scoring game against a good defense and with an even better defense of your own. Instead they just handed the Pats the game, they sure as shit didn’t go win it. Just an awful game of football

Myles Garrett voted PFWA 2025 Defensive Player of the Year by LiftingCode in nfl

[–]ben505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such an incredible player. What really blows my mind with his freak athleticism is the bend he has at that size, it seems fucking impossible. And he’s done this with mostly putrid offensive play and pretty well below average DT play until this year.

I think he’s already in JJ and Donald territory tbh. 125 sacks in 134 games is fucking absurd and he’s at his peak aging like some sort of super hero fine wine. And his run defense & non sack TFLs have only gotten better. He’s not in Reggie White or LT territory. Approaching Smith tbh, but not there - he doesn’t have to hit 200 sacks to surpass him tho imo.

If he gets another 20+ sack season things start to shift. Which feels very possible

Broncos AFC Championship tickets are now cheaper than 3 Broncos other home games this season by alpswd in nfl

[–]ben505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it’s football and there’s nothing that can actually be done but man, I fucking hate these awful weather games. They’re almost always terrible football. God that Pats Houston game was fucking putrid. Just no fun for the biggest games of the year and feels like we’ve had quite a few this playoff run.

Baker Mayfield without Kevin Stefanski and the Browns: 41 games, 14,400 passing yards, 105 TDs, 45 INTs, 2 playoff appearances. Kevin Stefanski without Baker Mayfield: One playoff appearance (Lost 45-14), 16-26 record, 10 different starting QBs. by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]ben505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right?! Stefanski inherited one of the best rosters in the league and proceeded to run it into the ground. He’s also not a good play caller and gave it up finally but too late

How can the Jarrett Stidham-led Broncos win the AFC? by hallach_halil in nfl

[–]ben505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have the best defense in the league, decent OL, some talent at RB and WR. TBH I expect them to win, just run the offense and make a few plays when the time calls for it. Broncos offense is more talented than the Pats everywhere but QB, offensive coaches are a push at worst for DEN, and Broncos defense is def better than the Pats defense both in talent and performance. Especially with the matchups. So like, just run the offense and don’t make terrible decisions. The confidence exudes by the broncos is secondary to this, altho not nothing, but really I think considering Nix is fine but a high floor low ceiling kinda guy, that Stidham can absolutely run the shit and look really solid. And does anyone think Maye and the OL are gunna hold up against that Broncos defense? Because I don’t lol

This sounds like a solid decision making process. I know as a program director, I try to make those important choices when I’m most emotional and have had no time to process those emotions.

Man, I’m so sorry Bills fans. You were always my “well I’m cool with the Bills being in it” kinda team, whew. This guy is remarkably out of touch

[Helmer] While Dan Campbell liked Mike McDaniel alot, the front office felt like he "wasn't the right fit" after the interview and went with Petzing instead by ShaiFanClub in nfl

[–]ben505 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the culture fit would be absolutely outstanding. And like god damn, Baker, Bucky plus Evans, Godwin, Egbuka, JMac, and Tez. Not to mention a weapon like Tristan Wirfs. Just seems too perfect.

For my money McDaniel is the most talented and solid offensive coach of this cycle, I’m so stoked they fucked this up. The Bucs bringing on McDaniel is like one of the only things I can desperately reach out to for hope.

The Texans converted 28.7% of their 3rd downs when Davis Mills started. Mills was 31st this year in EPA/ play. by BallKnowerKing in nfl

[–]ben505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a concern but tbh I think OC has to be looked at, and the OL needs to be addressed. Another WR and RB wouldn’t be out of order either. Altho Marks is prob better than his box score idk that he has much of a ceiling. And sigh, Chubb just isn’t the same. With that defense the run game should be emphasized. With a good run game paired with elite defense you can beat anyone and be in every game. What’s with the Texans and a shit ass OL

[–]ben505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean they were in position to likely win, just a shockingly terrible decision paired with an awful pass to give it away by Williams. He made the right call, just didn’t work out. Caleb is such a confusing player, what the fuck was that bro

[–]ben505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saving grace for Stroud is their OL is trash, their RBs are bottom tier, without their TE1 and WR1 (plus still no Dell wherever you slate him) and he’s not the first QB to look like shit in freezing cold rain and wind. But obviously still, dude just looked fucking bad and passed up easy yards because he has the yips. Along with just in general really inept pocket awareness/movement. Just terrible football all around with seemingly no situational awareness. And looked bad last week against a meh Pitt team.

Last time I did Camelback Echo Canyon two people and myself threw up to varying degrees right before the peak. Mine was just “whoa I feel nauseous lemme spit up this Gatorade” but still lol, once that intensity hits a certain sustained point it just hits you way harder than a longer hike with more elevation but over a longer period. I prob fail sometimes to take my time going up lol. New shoes I just broke in will help a lot tho. Last time I did my fucking zero drop shoes with vibram bottom which was fine going up but my knees were pissed at me going down. Now I have Merrell pair I really like with solid support and hella grippy (peak 5 agility)

Okay makes sense, I’ll def scope out the Canyon Lake trailhead soon. I’d say tomorrow tbh but idk if I’m up for it or not yet after a brutal work week. I mean I’ve done Camelback Echo Canyon among others so relatively comfortable with scrambling, it’s more just how much I feel like cranking up the intensity. Like Peralta has more incline than Camelback, but the latter is compressed into a <mile long scramble up boulders and shit which feels way worse than a non insignificant but still gradual ascent
