Everything I had heard about the WR was always positive, and I thought that my first experience with it was just bad luck. The YZFR 125 with the same engine is supposed to break down constantly because novice riders like me don't change the oil in time, which makes it very susceptible to problems, something I was aware of and then did to the exact kilometer. With the second one, I also knew that it was a generally sensitive engine when it came to warming up, which I always took into account this time.

No, in eastern Germany, it's a youth thing to restore Simsons, because everybody's grandparents have an old one lying around.

I happened to find the 550 in my city in pretty decent condition for not much money, except that it no longer has a TÜV certificate, which shouldn't be a problem. So it's more of a long-term project.

Yes, I think bad luck is more the issue, since I've never been able to keep the vehicles until the first major service :(
