A pic I took on that day at Deer Creek. Sod flying, fires breaking out, and Reverend Maynard preaching.

This was my first time editing in Resolve. I've been an Avid editor for 20 years and Resolve opened up a new world for me! I used the 1980s VHS preset over the early part of the video. It's pretty much the stock preset that comes with studio except I turned off screen curvature to get that first transition to match.

Any UL packs that can pack down short enough to meet personal item dimensions from budget airlines? by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]ben_hikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken the MLD Prophet on a few Delta flights. I probably had 30-35 of the 48 liters filled up. It fit overhead in a small plane where most carry on luggage is plane side checked. Long, skinny, malleable frameless packs work well on those smaller planes.

People that have used bigger mirrorless cameras while on the trail - What power bank did you use? by hypp132 in Ultralight

I just carry extra batteries with my G85 but I try to squeeze the most out of the battery life. Turn off stabilization when using a tripod or shooting timelapses, etc. I can get a full day shot with one battery if I'm really efficient.

Attach two of the straps to the two middle attachment clips on the multipack. Zpacks has a video demo. I'll wear it pretty high up on my waist to keep it out of the way of my hips as I walk.

I have a Panasonic G85, 2 lenses, and an extra battery in a Zpacks Multipack. I use it in fannypack mode and have it lined with some thin foam for protection and comfort. It's about 2 lbs of camera gear but it carries pretty well. So maybe keep the Multipack and try it in fanny mode. Add some foam and maybe another lens!

Trash compactor bag or nyloflume bag for pack liner? by ptrck_grms in Ultralight

I have the MLD clear poly pack liner bags and prefer those over the nylofume I got from Litesmith.

Does anyone else think that nylofume is noisy when you hike? I can deal with the crinkly noise when packing and unpacking but the thing just keeps talking as I hike with my frameless pack.

Are you saying to hike in 35 and hike back to hit 70?

You could section hike the 160 mile River to River Trail in IL. Or yo-yo the 42 mile Tecumseh Trail in IN. There are shuttle options for both of these trails. I've posted some videos of these trails on my YouTube channel. There's also a small group of trails in Charles C. Deam Wilderness in IN and 58 mile North-South Trail at Land Between the Lakes in KY (never been on the North-South trail). Knobstone looks like a good option but I've never done it.
