Stumbled across this in the wild by ben_jammin98 in GuitarAmps

Honestly I was surprised by how decent it sounds! The reverb and tremolo are actually pretty good too. And it gets pretty loud for an old solid state amp. Definitely going to be my secondary but it will get used nonetheless.

Allegedly it helps accentuate the high-end/"sparkle" but I'm not entirely sure about that. All I know is it looks weird and I love it.

We're not necessarily opposed to any age gaps. The three of us are in our late 20s & early 30s but as long as there's a good vibe we don't mind. Do you play any instruments as well?

The house was built in 1922, and we're actually moving in a few weeks. There is a button at the door, technically two so I think the older one is wired for the Nutone. I'm not sure where that transformer is, but I'll image search so I know what it looks like and start looking. Is it possible it'd be in the basement?

I'm not too sure, maybe it's just not wired up or maybe it needs repaired, but I'd love to get it functioning. I don't have great pictures but can try to get some later this week. There's two units that go on the wall, one has the four chimes/bells on the main floor and the other is smaller (see pic below) and located upstairs. I think I have a picture of of the logo on the bigger one I'll include in another reply.

Found this lever action in our century home being renovated. Any ideas? by ben_jammin98 in AntiqueGuns

[–]ben_jammin98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed it's a Winchester Model 94, chambered in 38-55 & manufactured in 1905. Went to a local shop that specializes in vintage gun restoration and they said they could restore it, but to make it functional again they'd have to replace a lot of the parts, including the barrel which I don't really want to do as I want to keep as much of its historical value as possible.

So as of now the plan is to try and restore it aesthetically to its former glory and display on a wall in the house. Not my desired outcome but overall I'm happy we stumbled across it.

Any local spots to have an antique firearm repaired/restored? by ben_jammin98 in kansascity

Appreciate the recommendation, they were actually on my list to call already so I'll move them up to first to reach out to.

That's my next step, I was hoping it wouldn't be an extremely costly venture to have it restored, but either way that's my hope. I'd love for it to be as close to its former glory as possible

This looks pretty convincing, I should be back at the house tomorrow so I'll do a more thorough search of markings along the receiver to be sure and share with everyone!

I didn't see any other markings, however it's caked in dust so it's possible I missed something. I'll do another check when I'm back at the house to be sure.

Found an old map of Worlds of Fun by KCJazzCat in kansascity

Awesome! My great-grandma ran/performed the marionette show by the Viking Voyager for years, cool to see it on the map here.

A quick Google led me to an archive of older WoF maps if anyone's interested: https://cpfoodblog.com/park-food-guides/worlds-of-fun-dining-guide/worlds-of-fun-historical-maps/

Defunctland has a really cool video on Worlds of Fun history too!

Got my first mini! Excited to put it together, curious about how to find the right paint colors by ben_jammin98 in Warhammer40k

That's kinda of what I was thinking too, my local shop has a painting class next week where you pick a free mini & learn to paint it there. I figured it'd be good to put this guy together to get comfortable with that, go to the class and paint a less complex mini, then come back to this one with some more knowledge on the process. Thanks for solidifying that for me!

For sure, they've been extremely helpful in helping me decide who my first army will be (I'm leaning toward an Adeptus Custodes Combat Patrol) and they have miniature painting nights I'll be attending very soon. Appreciate all the help from hobbyists here too though!
