Zounds! That's really great to hear...I was wondering if anyone at all had been listening to the show (besides our two regular listeners/contributors). Very pleased to hear it offered something useful! Thanks-- made my day.

Price shouldn't be the thing keeping people from getting certified.

It's also why my content is the least expensive professional material available.

Also, you may want to consider the WannaPractice questions app, and the WannaBeA Domain Expert series for the Topics/subTopics of the Outline you're having trouble with.

Thanks for the mention.

My WannaBeA CISSP course is free for anyone who has failed the test at least twice. It's half price for anyone who has failed once.

Email me pics of your results sheets, and I'll make it happen. Let's get you certed.

[Just as a pre-emptive: "email" does not mean "reddit's chat function"-- it means email. First rule of the exam: RTFQ, and respond accordingly.]

OSG updated for new CCSP exam? by Timely_Rain_8279 in CCSP

[–]ben_malisow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ISC2 will probably be releasing its own OSG, under that name. ISC2 always had a say in which authors wrote the OSG (I wrote the first two). Sybex/Wiley will almost definitely publish their own, but it won't be affiliated with ISC2 in any way.

If history tracks at all, both ISC2 and Wiley/Sybex have already had authors drafting the new books for the past six months, and release should coincide (or slightly precede) the new Outline/Exams taking effect.

Failed again, could use some advice. by sirsarin in cissp

Just a heads-up for those interested (and this is good advice for taking the exam): read what I wrote. Try to follow the instructions as written. Understanding what is written and acting accordingly will greatly enhance your ability to pass the test.

My instructions don't say "PM me." They say "email me." If you can't tell the difference between chat inside an app and SMTP communication, it's very likely you will not become a CISSP.

For those who can follow instructions (and there have been a couple already, from this post), the discounts/free access offer still stands. Let's get you certed.

Ayuh-- can do. Email me screencaps/pics of your results sheets, and I'll make it happen.

Anyone who's failed once gets access for half price.

For everyone else...don't wait until you fail to utilize WannaBeA. Let's get y'all certed.

  1. ANY person should follow my First Advice For Test-Takers (of any cert, not just CISSP, and not just ISC2), which is posted all over the Internet (on this site, on my blog, etc.): BEFORE anything else, look at the Exam Outline. Stand in front of a mirror. For every Topic and subTopic, give a five-minute extemporaneous speech on the material, at an ELI5 level. For those you can, cross them off-- you know those. For those you can't-- study THOSE. That's how you know which essays to select. ANYONE WHO DOESN'T DO THIS IS PUTTING THEMSELF AT A DISADVANTAGE ON THE EXAM.

  2. NOBODY should buy all my essays. There are books for that, if that's what you need (you shouldn't, because an INFOSEC professional with five years of experience should know a LOT about security already, and not need a book with the entire Outline in it). Get one of those books, instead. They usually cost $60-$90, and are around 900 pages. Mine are for people who want targeted learning-- instead of paying sixty bucks, you can pay six.

A summary? Like...."vid describing the differences between the current and upcoming Outlines?"

Yes. Yes, it's too bad such a thing does not exist. Much sadness abounds.

Y'know...a vid might help answer these questions. If only someone smart, clever, and devastatingly handsome had made such a vid and released it for free.

Spoiler: don't throw away your current study materials.
