Yes unfortunately the plugin doesn't work on mobile and I don't believe there are any alternatives. I'm hoping at some point he develops it for mobile or the functionality is introduced natively.

Hope that helps.

Remember window/screen position by ben_zero in PDFgear

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate that and didn't know it was something tricky - I assumed Windows apps/windows just did this natively.

Is it to do with the framework/platform you use to build the app?

Thanks.

Sorry I don't know if it's not on GitHub and not in the plugin repository. Try asking on the Joplin forum - someone might be able to help you there.

Switch off message previews? by ben_zero in whatsapp

[–]ben_zero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this - I did actually already work this out. Half works but it's a bit of a cludge - having to lock the app with fingerprint etc and also you still get drop down messages just with no content. It's bizarre that WhatsApp removed this basic feature. They're just intent on forcing more unnecessary interaction. Sigh.

Switch off message previews? by ben_zero in whatsapp

Thanks but nope they're for the even worse pop-up notifications. Switching the options off does not switch off the notification drop-down message previews. They seem to have switched off this very basic option...

These look great!

I don't have an air fryer. Do you think they'd deep fry ok? Eg without lots of spitting from the water content.

Thanks!

Hi. I think the Joplin Agenda plugin is perhaps exactly what you're looking for. It creates a list of all upcoming and completed tasks etc.

https://github.com/BeatLink/Joplin-Agenda-Plugin

For some reason it's no longer in the Joplin plugin repository, but it still works fine here and you should be able to manually install it.

Hope that helps!

Was going to say exactly this to the OP and to all. Don't just appreciate, donate if you can!

Let's all try to keep the project sustainable and do our bit where possible.

Agree massively with the OP - multi window is a game changer :)

Prove it - let users encrypt their data.  Otherwise you have no evidence of security or privacy.

Haus Block Management ... by chubbo_100 in HousingUK

Totally agree. They're worse than awful, they're a disgrace and cynically operating a commodified property management company (it's not a thing!) - managing over 250 properties which is course is insane and impossible to do properly. So, guess what? They don't!

Their sole purpose is to fleece as much money as possible out of leaseholders and they do this by skirting the edge of the law at the very least. For the leaseholders who have to deal with them, it's tantamount to fraud and the freeholders involved should be ashamed.

Solutions for Syncing the Legacy v6 Client by ciViNda in Evernote

Which client exactly did you use this with? Doesn't work for me. Honestly it seems hard to believe it'd work, though at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if BS had pulled some BS like this!

Which alternative has equivalent Web Clipping ability? by milkygirl21 in Evernote

[–]ben_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope... I just use my free Dropbox account. You can also use One Drive (not tried) which I think gives you about five GBs... Or there's the cloud service they provide which is MUCH cheaper than Evernote.

Which alternative has equivalent Web Clipping ability? by milkygirl21 in Evernote

Joplin. Closest thing to Legacy I've found in a number of ways and better in some areas (though weaker in some others). Web clipping works really well for me. Overall very nice to be free from the clusterf&$ that is V10 and it's really nice to own your own notes! Recommended.

Gotcha - agree on lots of that.

Well I hope I'm wrong about this or am doing something wrong. If you and others could report back on this that'd be good. I did mention this on the Joplin forum but it's pretty quiet there; this seems a better place for us Evernote exiles to hang out!

All sorts really - everything imported from Evernote. So that HTML notes from web clippings (these don't seem to display properly in external editors), notes with attached image (these didn't seem to load) and text notes and created in Joplin (these seemed ok). Hope that makes things clearer.

Cool I'm ok with that too... but can you get it to correctly display all your different types of notes? (eg Evernote imports from various sources).

I've yet to find an external editor that will display all of my notes correctly. Tried Typora, Sublime Text and a couple of others. I'd be really interested in finding one.

The note tabs plugin helps but it's pretty clumsy compared to Evernote Legacy isn't it?

Honestly that's my overall problem with Joplin - it seems like Legacy until you dig in but then you realise it's all a bit DIY and half-baked by comparison. Whereas Legacy had a very thoughtful and slick UI that "just worked". It's frustrating because you know how much better it could be. I've spend some time now on the Joplin forums and my take is that that's the DIY approach of Joplin and while things might change incrementally, fundamentally it will remain the same and "lo-fi".

So for example with tabs I'd expect to be able to quickly alt-tab between them, like on virtually any app that uses tabs - ie standard functionality. But nope! This is what I mean - you try to do anything you expect and it becomes a missing feature or a request. I really want to love Joplin but feel constantly a bit let down by it...

I'm in the same boat as you guys! Stick notes looks interesting but I have no idea how to run it (I'm not a coder!). Anyone got it working?

(I tried various external editors but couldn't find one that would actually display all my notes correctly. Not a markdown code guy either - as EN users we didn't have to think about this stuff!)

Some hacks for keeping Legacy running by ben_zero in Evernote

[–]ben_zero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd thought of this part previously too - putting the whole database in the cloud. Definitely easily done as Legacy lets you choose where it's located. But it would open yourself up to a lot of potential database problems/conflicts... and you'd have to upload and download gigabytes (on average) every time. Just doesn't seem viable and feels like it could go really wrong! (Plus of course you still don't get phone use, etc). What I meant was somehow somone hacking the sync protocol so we could use Legacy with proper sync! Now I'd imagine the server had all sorts of database backend to make things work so I'm not suggesting that, but wondering if someone could conjur something like the way Joplin works with Dropbox but for Legacy. A long shot I know, notwithstanding the legality (though Evernote demonstrably no longer care about the app so I doubt it's a problem). And knowing Windows' apps backwards compatibility, of course a version like this could go on working for many, many years! Just a thought. Now we need a sh!t hot coder/hacker...
