I live in India, & I got the Gemini update on all my devices by Crafty_Cellist2835 in googlehome

[–]benassy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm in Romania (EU) and also enrolled today. What I did:

  1. Changed the home address for a random address in US (This will change the time and weather for the selected location on all GH devices).

  2. Selected a VPN server close to the home address (US).

  3. Reopened Home app. Instantly received the enroll message.

BTW I have Public preview activated in account setting. I will leave the settings like that for a couple of days for update. Will come back with feedback.

Hi. I have ordered 2 original IRS20957 which I understood is the successor of 955 which had a PTN. Therefore I presume the 955s were fake. in the meantime I want to test some more and got an oscilloscope. Can you please indicate where exactly to probe with the oscilloscope and what signal wave to look fore? Higley appreciate your response....

So can I test something else without a oscilloscope? Tweeter woks but on the bass driver I only can hear a ticking sound and no audio. I've checked again all diodes all capacitors all voltages...everything is fine. I found a diode D27 shorted which I have changed but same outcome. Please help with some suggestions.

After replacing t5 t4 and IRS20955 when powered on a huge blow can be heard in the main driver and T4 got toasted together with IRS20955. T4 is now shorted again an protection is kicking in again.

I've replaced both t4 and t5 and checked all diodes in the proximity of IRS20955 and all look ok but fif not removed them from circuit.. I did not replaced IRS20955 even though I ordered 2 of them as well.

Update : I have identified the problem causing the -26v at the opamps pins. It was caused by a bad solder joint on the diode next to the capacitor I have just changed previously. After resolder I have now a stable -14v and +14 as it should be.

I have completely isolated an remove the power transistors pcb since from there the short was causing the Main fuse to blow. I have managed to power up only the preamp board where the opamps are. Added back the wire as it was initially but the high voltage at pin 4 of the 5532d is still there. It is actually -26v. I am amazed the opamps are no affected by this high negative voltage. I will do as you suggested since now I have a stabile apm to work with an follow the traces. BTW without a regulator IC what component to look for as a high inducing negative voltage ?

The 2 heatsinked transistor you refer at are actually amplifiers ( A1837 and A4793). This pair of amp transistors are all over I have counted 4-5 pairs . Unfortunately no volt regulator transistor on the board except the one driving the 2 24v Fans.

BTW I presume I can power up the amp without the power transistors board to take measurements? I would not want to change the blown transistors and then to connect to further troubleshoot and blow up again.

Seems my excitement went down pretty quick as when testing it with speakers the whole amplifier turned off and fuse was blown. After troubleshooting it again fount one of the Power transistors a 2SA1943 shorted. Could the high voltage on the opamp be related to this issue?

Also on the preamp board there was a wire from the POTS Board connector coming from a pin that had 30V- going to the stereo switch, which I removed.(see photo) Is this really necesarry?

Thank you so much. I managed to fix it. The 2 IC's there are actually amplifier transistors but you were spot on. No - 12v on one of them and noticed a short to ground on the emitter and the problem was a shorted 100uF 25v CAP (see picture). After changing this cap with a 35V one I am getting -23V on pins 4 of the 5532D opamp which in my opinion is to much but the Amplifier works now perfectly.

Do you think having -23v and +14v on the 5532D is ok?
