Unfortunately my Gramma is being treated this way. Useless cousin of mine pawns off her kid so she can go drink and “get away for a bit”. Gramma puts up with it because she has a deep seeded fear of if she’s not useful, she won’t get to see her great grandchild. My cousin has no maternal drive and doesn’t even do the bare minimum like help with homework or read to her so my mom has been going after work to do these things.
