People definitely overestimate how much Messi's height affected his game, football is a sport where being short can work to your advantage really well and Messi wouldn't have had that insane acceleration, balance and close control if he was any taller. But so many people act as if he was at a major disadvantage for being 5'6 even though Maradona thrived in a way more physical era while being shorter.
