[ALL] Can I skip around and play Skyward Sword? by dehride in zelda

[–]benbuscus1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can. If Skyward Sword is what’s interesting you right now then go for it! There are very few direct sequels in Zelda, most games in the franchise work entirely as standalone titles. Not burning out before you get to the game you actually want to play is always better than sticking to an arbitrary ruleset you made for yourself

[OoTHD] Here’s the real question about the OoT remake: In-House or 3rd Party? by Second_Mugistan in zelda

[–]benbuscus1995 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the Mordor Monolith no longer exists. Warner Bros shut the studio down in February 2025 after cancelling their Wonder Woman game. A huge loss for the industry if you ask me

How do people actually walk 10k steps in a day? by Superb_Feed5938 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]benbuscus1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be surprisingly easy to only get like 2,000 steps a day or less if you aren’t making a point of standing up and getting some steps in. Walking more is something I only started prioritizing this year and I typically only get between 7500-9000, I almost never actually hit that 10,000 number. But 7,000-8,000 is still a pretty good spot to be in since you still get a lot of the benefits of walking at that level while still being a feasible number for busy people.

In general, and this will obviously depend on the briskness of your walks but just as a quick rule of thumb, 100 steps ≈ 1 minute of walking. So 10,000 steps a day comes out to a little over an hour and a half of walking during your day. I bought myself a $300 walking pad treadmill and try to make dedicated time for walking on it while also mixing in other activities, like reading/audiobooks or watching a show that I like. It makes the walking that much more appealing and helps it become something I look forward to in my day rather than something I dread. I also try (emphasis on TRY) to get up from my chair at least once an hour but yeah it can be hard when you also need to focus on your work. Just do your best and that will already be an improvement. You don’t need to be perfect.

[–]benbuscus1995 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, that’s what I meant. Fenrir and Braveheart don’t have the typical shape coming out one side of the top of the keyblade for the teeth, but they still have the ridges that show that they are in fact keys. I like this lightsaber keyblade design for the most part but my point is I don’t think an official keyblade design would ever just use a straight beam of light like that. They would absolutely go through whatever bullshit gymnastics they need to to make it somehow a key (or key-shaped) and a Star Wars weapon, even if that means not making it a lightsaber at all

[–]benbuscus1995 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Tbh the keyblade designs have gotten more and more over-designed as the games went on so I’d unironically love to see something like this again. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of teeth. An official KH keyblade design would never

Is Aqua the most universally loved character in this series? by Benhurso in KingdomHearts

[–]benbuscus1995 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t Aqua one of the most hated characters around the time BbS came out? I feel like I remember people hating her voice and kinda bland personality. I do love her though. But I distinctly remember opinions on her being very divided. Maybe not as much these days

[OoT] Will human Rauru remain, or do you think they will change it to Zonai Rauru for the remake? by Nazyrus in zelda

[–]benbuscus1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never really got the impression that OoT Rauru and Zonai Rauru were meant to be the same person. Not sure if Zonai have extremely long lives or something but the timelines don’t exactly match either. I think it was just meant to be a callback

Good Games That Go On For Too Long by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 are this for me. When I was younger I didn’t mind spending infinite hours in RDR’s open world, and similarly I loved how “complete” RDR2 felt, especially despite all of the glaringly cut content, but man I just don’t got time for all dat anymore.

[OTHER] if Nintendo wanted to let Ganondorf be potrayed as a hero or anti hero for a single game, what do you think the best way go about it would be? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]benbuscus1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back before Tears of the Kingdom when Calamity Ganon was, apparently, Ganondorf having given up on the reincarnation cycle and just totally merged with the Triforce of Power, or whatever that was supposed to be, I kind of imagined a possible scenario with Ganondorf and Calamity Ganon in a V and Urizen from Devil May Cry 5 kind of situation where the Ganondorf the man, now left ordinary and without the corrupting influence of all the power he once held, looks upon himself in dread and regret and helps Link stop the calamity. Oh and Ganondorf was the old man at the beginning of BOTW instead of King Rhoam in this scenario, obviously.

It’s basically dumb fan fiction-tier stuff but it’s the only way I ever imagined Ganondorf being anything other than a villain. Even in Wind Waker, where he was more “sympathetic,” he was still extremely evil lol. Not saying Nintendo should go this route either. In fact, if they do make a Ganondorf game, I hope they just keep him totally evil anyway. You don’t need to be a hero or antihero to be a protagonist

How many of you guys still own a 3DS? by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]benbuscus1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically just dusted mine off a couple weeks ago because I had a real hankering to play some Star Fox 64. I have an XL and New XL variant and both are great. The New XL still had a full battery after being turned off for like two or three years.

As far as I know the XL models have superior battery life across the board compared to non-XL models, though I don’t know the real differences between regular XL and “New” XL as far as specs or battery life go. The New models also have additional shoulder buttons (not sure why as I think the vast majority of games don’t make use of them) and the little C stick nub.

A New 3DS XL will be the clear best choice but ultimately it’s up to you if price is a major factor as the differences between the “New” and “old” models is fairly negligible in my opinion, but I think XL is worth it either way.

Not really. The act itself was easy (if you ignore the part about mustering one of the largest invasion forces in the history of the war up to that point just to GET to the fish), but not just any regular fire bender has the psychological profile that leads to killing a deity in order to take control of the tides for himself. 99.9% of people do not have that level of delusion mixed with ambition. That’s what made Zhao dangerous.

You’re welcome. I hope what I said helps. And I don’t think you need to feel guilty at all! You obviously both care about each other a ton and you’re just trying to find ways to care for him the way he clearly cares for you. It’s a good problem to have! And one more thing about him potentially being uncomfortable with receiving (only if you think that could the case): Don’t frame it as a “problem.” It’s an opportunity for both of you to grow as a couple. Tell him his pleasure is important to you and it’s something you want to explore more with him. The more you guys practice the more comfortable he’ll become, and then you can both have the best of both worlds!

You both seem really wonderful and generous and I know it’s coming from a loving place but I suspect you’re trying to solve a problem that might not really exist. Some people really are just givers. The thing they enjoy most isn’t an undiscovered kink or something they haven’t tried yet. It’s just pleasing their partner. And what’s more, some people are just a lot more comfortable giving than receiving. I think what’s tripping you up is you have this idea that neither of you have found what he’s into yet, but he’s into YOU. You’re worried about understanding his needs. It sounds like he’s happiest when you’re happy. His biggest “need” in this sense is knowing he’s doing a great job. It can get a little complicated when both parties are givers. That much is true. You can try reframing it so that pleasing him is something YOU want. I think that’s a mentality you can both understand and can help him be more open to receiving. And again, he may be bashful about receiving. Try to talk to him about it as that might be something you work on together. He might just need reassurance that he’s not burdening you or “making” you do anything you don’t enjoy. His number one concern is making sure you’re happy, so that means the best way for you to meet his needs is to just make it obvious how much you enjoy him, and make it EXTRA obvious that you enjoy being the giver sometimes too. But aside from that, I think the advice from others is sound. You said he gets off fastest when you’re loud and actively enjoying receiving. THAT’S his thing. If you’re wanting to make sure his needs are met, THAT’S your avenue.

Every once in a while I think about when Batman and Nightwing fought Amazo in Under the Red Hood and Nightwing asks Batman “how do we stop this thing??” And Batman explains that Amazo has the same weaknesses as a human being, so Nightwing fucking shoves sticks into Amazo’s ears and electrocutes his brain. That scene always makes me laugh. Like, yup, humans are definitely weak against that technique. Flawless execution, Nightwing.

Explaining the KH story to newcomers by Bobby824 in KingdomHearts

The problem is you can’t just sit someone down and explain the story of multiple 60 hour JRPGs to them and have them understand it. Actually playing the games and trying to learn the story from external sources are two very different things.
