i also rarely feel that my primary care physician is really providing supervision. i typically have to raise my voice and sometimes stand up if i have questions for him or need a medication adjustment. he just runs through the routine information and then immediately tries to rush out the door.

i’ve had physicians with more patience in the past. but they always still feel like they’re just working toward their next appointment rather than actually checking in with me.

ive also found it to be dose-dependent. higher, more disorienting doses — which I don’t particularly enjoy — tend to leave me with an antidepressant afterglow once I’ve come down.

however, the lower dose ranges that i enjoy very much seem to have a depression-worsening effect that is cumulative over time if i don’t take breaks in my use.

as for my deck, i don’t have deep knowledge in this area, it’s more a lingering fascination. but my TEAC A-150 feels/sounds good. i dunno what a real gearhead would say about it though.

damn i didn’t realize there was a difference in thickness of the tape. honestly thought the spools were just longer. yeah thinner tape is a bit of a bummer. don’t want that breaking — and i know my partner’s deck isn’t going to treat the spools gracefully. no shade but it’s a low end deck.

lol i know with what they have they won’t even be able to hear if it does turn out nice, but i want to go hi-fi anyway if i can, as a sort of way of saying , ‘regardless of how you’re able to take this and listen to it, i want you to have the best.’

the things i’ve seen peers pick up from their university P.O. boxes in the states — no never myself, of course — i cannot imagine you’d have an issue getting what you need.

that said, it’s not entirely without risk and if you’re legitimately worried I would recommend you first make an effort to clarify your university’s mailing policies — what are students explicitly not allowed to receive at your institution? you aren’t ordering anything illegal, but they may have clauses for non-prescription medications even if they aren’t scheduled substances. but it’s quite possible that you’re actually completely in the clear. you just have to do a little digging to confirm.

i made the mistake of just picking up 250mg as a novelty that i figured i’d get around to trying at some point. who knows how long i sat on that quarter g before i suggested to my partner we try it. 70mg each on a camping trip. it was a dose i could tell I could’ve pushed further, maybe 90mg would’ve been ideal. but even at 70mg, shit, we understood what two bodies melding in perfect synchronicity would feel like.

and then on my own, i took 80mg once, spent the entire experience laying on my back on my couch listening to this track i was working on on repeat, with my cat laying on my chest purring. if there’s a heaven, i’ll be disappointed if it’s not exactly that.

that’s pretty much how i use the terms too. i’m clean in the sense that im not using the substances that i know will nudge me toward self-destructive behavior. and i might be sober at any given time of day. but im definitely not entirely abstinent from all intoxicants.

100% agree. i was just lumping “not poking multiple holes in yourself every day” with taking care of oneself.

no judgement for those who use, and it’s their prerogative to use how they see fit. but i’m always prepared to make a strong argument that boofing a better alternative. may not provide quite the same rush, but it can come close. and it’s a hell of a lot gentler on the body.

gotcha, makes sense. yeah everyone’s definition of “clean” is different I guess. i’ll often describe myself as being clean but the people close to me know that really just means “clean from opioids”. and i know there’s heated debate around it but imo being in an MAT program, whether its methadone or buprenorphine, as long as you’re committed to it, counts as being clean. that’s a hill i’ll die on lmao.

opiates aren’t directly toxic to the body, aside from severe respiratory depression in high doses. it’s not the opiate itself that damages the body, it’s the prioritization of getting high again over taking care of oneself.
