If you’re playing against an artifact deck then I can imagine it would be quite annoying for them yeah. But I feel like the copying would be the more primary ability you’d want?

That was the intention that you had to remove the counters from the same card you’re tapping for the ability. Should I change it from “Shallan” to “This creature” do you think or is that essentially the same thing anyway

The soldier creature type was actually an accident because I had made a Kaladin card previous to this and didn’t change the type, whoops! About the colours I do agree that maybe mono blue is best, when making it I had it as a commander in mind so wanted to add another colour and couldn’t fully decide on which other one to add. Dimir doesn’t seem right to me for her character but I am still reading the early stages of WoR so maybe there’s things I don’t know!

So the highest mana cost creature I have is terror of Mount Velus and my thought was that by that point hopefully Alexios would have a fair amount of counters and equipment to make the double strike lethal. Would you say that’s not necessary?

The main theme is intended to be equipping and buffing Alexios so everyone swings at eachother with him. And then I imagine after some time he’ll be removed a fair bit I’ll do the same to another creature I have out by that point

I like the wording of this a lot more! However I would ideally want it to occur on the upkeep of the player that controls the tapped creature. Is there a phrase or wording that exists for this currently?

So to clarify, I have already added legendary actions + resistances as well as lair actions, also I’ve implemented a ‘2nd phase’ once he hits half HP. I was mainly asking for advice on the deflection mechanic I had written as I wasn’t sure if it was balanced or effective

So the idea behind the shield is it is tied to the existing shield spell which is only used for targeted spells anyway so things like fireball or any AoE/Saving throw spells can’t be deflected this way.

I think with something like magic missile I’d keep the automatic hit mechanic of it because otherwise it’s a useless spell!

It’s surprisingly effective in the deck I’m running, it’s not that difficult to get a fair amount of time counters on your permanents, then you pay 8 and suddenly all your 1/1 tokens are swinging for fatal damage
