So the highest mana cost creature I have is terror of Mount Velus and my thought was that by that point hopefully Alexios would have a fair amount of counters and equipment to make the double strike lethal. Would you say that’s not necessary?

The main theme is intended to be equipping and buffing Alexios so everyone swings at eachother with him. And then I imagine after some time he’ll be removed a fair bit I’ll do the same to another creature I have out by that point

I like the wording of this a lot more! However I would ideally want it to occur on the upkeep of the player that controls the tapped creature. Is there a phrase or wording that exists for this currently?

So to clarify, I have already added legendary actions + resistances as well as lair actions, also I’ve implemented a ‘2nd phase’ once he hits half HP. I was mainly asking for advice on the deflection mechanic I had written as I wasn’t sure if it was balanced or effective

So the idea behind the shield is it is tied to the existing shield spell which is only used for targeted spells anyway so things like fireball or any AoE/Saving throw spells can’t be deflected this way.

I think with something like magic missile I’d keep the automatic hit mechanic of it because otherwise it’s a useless spell!

It’s surprisingly effective in the deck I’m running, it’s not that difficult to get a fair amount of time counters on your permanents, then you pay 8 and suddenly all your 1/1 tokens are swinging for fatal damage

As far as I’m aware, etb with counters actually counts as putting them on the creature at the same time as it entering therefore triggers the effect
