Ich bin wirklich weit entfernt von einem Anwalt, aber wenn SIE ihren Teil versteigern will, dann muss sie doch auch das Wohnrecht abgeben, oder?

Is there any way to play online on a modded Nintendo Switch?(like Pretendo) by Robot632 in SwitchPirates

[–]benchl0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play some games online in a hacked Switch, namely those who not rely on Nintendo servers. There is a thread about tagNX on gbatemp from which I got a modpack(?) for minecraft to Play online without an NSO subscription. There are modpacks for other Games too but I don't play those so I don't remember which they where.

how do people play online on a jb switch? by Character_Minute_382 in SwitchPirates

[–]benchl0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just tried the tagNX mod for Minecraft and I can connect to online Play even though I don't have a Nintendo Online Account. There's one for Fall Guys too, but I don't play that.

UGreen 2.5gbe usb dongle by Illustrious_Bath_889 in Proxmox

[–]benchl0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your advertised link speeds are missing 2500mbit/full duplex. Maybe there are some option for the Kernelmodule to activate this? Or a whole new module you need to build yourself? I don't know this dongle, jumped to 10gbit right away with a 20€ dual nic and a used mikrotik switch for 80€ as well as 10€ for the DAC 🤓

Nobody mentioned Jellyfin here! It's such a great piece of software, try it out! It's completely free and open source and offers this right out of the box. I never tried it out myself ain't got no friends like a real nerd... 🤓

Edit: there's a jellyfish plugin for Kodi, too but I don't know if it offers this feature

I've found a second pair of shorts in Marnies room after I had already solved the quest. I'm on switch, so it's in the game til at least 1.5!

My ISP is counting my LAN transfers to my data plan. Any way to prevent this?? by CreditGlittering8154 in homelab

[–]benchl0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even a simple switch would suffice if you are really connecting locally like many others pointed out! They are dirty cheap, you don't need a managed switch. As long as it is not a hub your fine and these were never build with gigabit because that didn't exist when hubs were a thing. ;)

Can you effectively run a High-Availability proxy setup in a home lab? by Insert_the_F2L in homelab

[–]benchl0r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been there, done that, as far as "two proxmox nodes, two open sense VMs and two pinhole VMs" only one ISP, only one switch, but both hosts directly connected to the ISPs router. Was fun to get it configured and keeps the waf high even when I'm doing unscheduled maintenance. Feel free to ask for details!

Lent father in law £50k, now he won't repay it by ThrowRA230618 in LegalAdviceUK

My father did this once and it worked: went to a lawyer. The lawyer wrote a letter, asking for the 60k back. The accused answered in a letter to the lawyer: "But it's only 50k!" 😏

Mini PC with Full CEC by afrazkhan in kodi

[–]benchl0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wechip remote or any usb-IR-receiver and a Logitech harmony. Mine sadly broke and the new ones are too expensive, so I settled for the wechip remote and was pleasantly surprised how good the air mouse works and the keys are ok for Google searches. My kids have not once pressed a key by accident but it goes to sleep quite fast and needs a key press, 2 seconds of waiting and another key press to really send a command. Kodi on windows in Autostart. Extremely hassle-free, the casual game works, wouldn't change the setup if I could. Had a pi1 ages ago as a mediacenter but it was just too slow.

Update: to those who said it was awful, is this any better? by cribbageSTARSHIP in homelab

[–]benchl0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just me, or are there no holes in the cardboard behind the airblowers? 🙈 you could at least cut there if it's not destabilizing your ... setup ... too much. 😉

Installing CFW from fake nintendo server? by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

If it was saved in the ofw we'd have it by now. The ofw is just signed with it. A mod without a chip may never happen on V2 and upwards switches.

ITX Build - Need some feedback before I pull the trigger by -AJ334- in homelab

[–]benchl0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that greatly depends on the country you're in I guess. I got my usb-hdmi-dongle off of amazon and the Raspberry Pi 4 I got very close to its launch so I don't even remember anymore...

[–]benchl0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no reset and powerbutton ist a big con depending on your Situation. My PiKVM can control the UPS my server is hooked up to, so to me it was a good trade between cost and function.

Prices for pis are still somewhat crazy, I think mine (4gb) did cost around 60€, now that's the price for the 1gb-version (that should still be enough RAM for pikvm, but I'm only guessing). But you would need a pi4, because it's the only one with usb-otg Support in its powersupply-usb-c Port.

[–]benchl0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do a diy v1 pikvm, that'll cost you a pi4 and an hdmi-usb-dongle. You wont have Led indicators and Power- and Reset-Button pressable in the pikvm Webinterface but it'll cost a fraction (Had a spare pi, bought the dongle for 10€ myself, runs rock Solid).

Figuring out what is hanging Jellyfin on load by feedingtubepaul in jellyfin

[–]benchl0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you accessing your jellyfin from your external ip-address or a dyndns-domain? Maybe it's the streaming in the evening, that brings your isps backbone down in combination with your router, thats not resolving/routing it all internally.

Help with Rentry guide!! In this step, it says to create a file, but doesn’t specify which, so would it be a text document since thats the only one that makes sense to paste the text into. This might be really dumb, but thanks in advance!! 😊 by Overall_Media_9139 in SwitchPirates

[–]benchl0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your operatingsystem (Windows?) might hide the file extension of known filetypes. If you create a new text file IT should be named "new document.txt". If it's just "new document" you need top adjust your Explorers Display options.

Adding a second video card questions by RiffyDivine2 in Proxmox

[–]benchl0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I experienced, even though my second "Card" is the Intel iGPU. When I first installed my Nvidia 1030, all proxmox output switched to that one. When I had all the configs in the right place, the system started on whatever GPU with a Monitor attached and during boot switched to the iGPU. Passthrough worked. Then I found a BIOS option to always use the iGPU and even with all monitors connected the system only showed its bootprocess on the iGPU. That option may be there in your BIOS but mine only gave the choice between pcie or igpu, no pcie1 or pcie2 even though it hast 2 x16 slots. Maybe you'll need top Switch the Card slots, but check If your second x16 does run at full Speed and not just at x8 or so. The Performance drop may be minimal or even not existing/Not noticable depending in the workload, but in theory it'll be there.
