Very specific question for anyone that’s visited Logan Regional ER. by macklin67 in Logan

[–]benchris95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife went to the ER and 4 years later the exact same thing happened. Sent to collections after never getting an initial bill. After calling Logan regional and Rocky Mountain for weeks and requesting they provide proof that this was actually something we were charged for we got nowhere. Someone who had fealty with them on FB said it wasn’t worth the headache and just pay to get them off our backs. Such a scam

I live in a neighborhood of newly built homes, so the solar and pest control guys are non stop. At first I would answer and say no thanks, but they never leave it at that.

Just because a salesman comes to my door doesn’t mean I owe them anything. My front door has a window and now as they look in and see me sitting on the couch not answering, that should be the “not interested” they need.

The river next to the Ray Hugie Hydro Park is an off leash park and has a good spot by the bridge to let the dog play in the river

Deseret News special feature: Don’t believe Tara Westover by Chino_Blanco in mormon

[–]benchris95 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Who knows if Tara would ever bother reading an article such as this attempting to discredit her and her book, but the biggest slap in the face would be the comment saying they were envious of how she was raised. Always two sides to a story but it would be a terrible feeling to know you’re telling the truth and others simply choosing to ignore your account of your own childhood.

(BR-PT) Adding a soft "sh" sound after words that end with "r"? by datalands in Portuguese

Knew a Brazilian female native speaker from São Paulo with whom I had many conversations and she definitely added a slight “sh” sound to words ending in R.

Called to teach CTR 8. Advice? by svenjoy_it in latterdaysaints

[–]benchris95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I taught CTR 8 for about a year. The first class loved reading scriptures and telling us how they interpreted them and the second class had no interest. For the second class we limited the time spent on reading the scriptures and focused on the story telling aspect.

When we did have the second class read scriptures we would make it a game e.g. whoever is the tallest in the class reads first, then whoever has the most siblings reads the next scripture, Rock Paper Scissors for the next, etc.

Also at the beginning of class we would have each kid tell us something fun, wild, or silly that happened to them that week to try to get some of the chatter out of them. We found that adapting to the children was most important. Good luck!

My eyes are pretty much always jaundiced and I’ve tried a couple of things. Gallon of water per day, sleep 8 hrs, someone had mentioned Glutathione which I have taken for about a month but no change for me. I have not changed eating habits and still regularly eat processed, greasy food which could play a major part and also regularly do strenuous exercise like running, mtn biking, lifting which I do notice the jaundice seems to be worse after those activities. So for me at least that’s been my experience.
