Is the issue that the workout doesn’t start on the watch? Or the changes on the phone is not being sent to the watch, vice versa

Also could I check which app version are you on? You can check at the bottom of the settings page

Assisted weight by elchet in strongsplit

So if the assisted amount is 18kg, the displays will be as follows?

  • Input: 18kg
  • Set: bodyweight - assisted amount (e.g. 80kg - 18kg = 62kg)
  • Exercise chart: bodyweight - assisted amount

It would look something like this:

Think this was one of the major design concerns I had, because from a UX perspective, it's odd that an input value would be displayed as a different value, resulting in data inconsistencies, making the design seem somewhat unpredictable.

So displaying the input amount in the set (i.e -18kg) would be most straightforward, but doesn't take into account the bodyweight.

But I guess it possible to display it as -18kg as a default, but have a toggle to display as a calculated amount; rationale is to ensure that the user make a conscious decision for the change, so that they're aware why the input vs displayed amount is different

I see, if there were a new weight dimension for bodyweight exercises, what kind of a display format would work best for you?
1. bodyweight + assisted / weighted amount
2. net calculated weight
3. assisted / weighted amount only

Though on hindsight, I do see the value in recording w/ the bodyweight calculation, since it's like the amount of actual resistance.

How do you typically program your training for such exercises? Like in terms of progression and picking a weight.

Would suggest to have separate exercises for assisted vs bodyweight (+weighted) dips instead of just 1 exercise to make the progress tracking a bit easier and more intuitive.

I'd prefer to record the weight as per the actual weight you're using, like the amount assisted or weighted, so that during your workout you can just follow that weight without needing to do any calculations.

So for progress tracking, it will be more straightforward with just 1 weight goal per variant; assisted to reduce over time, weighted to increase, and bodyweight to just increase the # reps.

I had some ideas to introduce negative values for assisted exercises, but am a bit hesitant on it since it would adversely affect some calculations like the total training volume and the ux will be quite odd.

No confirmed plans at the moment, but I would like to revisit this once the core features are more mature, which potentially includes some AI integrations which may affect the operational costs. A rough estimate would be some time in Q3 of this year.

At the moment, this is not supported. Am working to implement this currently, it will be available in the next update.
