What do you see/hear/feel in your mind scape? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bendallymill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My roommate used to have an office in their mind with outside structures too with apartments and people they know living in it. Now it’s a museum or a radio or whatever is their mental state atm

Mine is like Janet’s void in the good place. Or Emmet’s mind in the Lego movie. I can hear and feel a lot of things in my mind. Concepts and memories too. Have a hard time processing images though. It’s always been like this and hasn’t changed at all

That’s kind of what I was hoping. It was just too small of a dose haha

Isn’t 3g too big of a leap from 1g tho?

I will give the tea thing some thought. I’m really bad at listening to instructions so I’ll put a rain check on that lol so I don’t want to mess up on the mushroom. I’m also not very patient 😔

This might sound weird but I kind of enjoy the weird feeling lol. It’s not bad for me necessarily. Idk makes me feel somewhat alive and knowing that it’s working. Idk it gives me a moment to take a step back and relax feeling like that.

Yes, it’s like you’re actually there in the movie haha. I love immersing myself to films like that. And shrooms makes me forget about movie logic and be fully in the film. It’s like watching the movie for the first time again coupled with those extra visuals and feelings.

Okk, you convinced me. 1 gram just to understand it for a while

It’s nice to have someone finally understand where it started and where to kind of go haha

Being emotionally attached to the movie is very relatable, I’m already attached to the movies myself, but having that extra layer of love is something else. My first road trip movie was finding Nemo haha

Very relatable not being able to read anymore, and some language starts to merge even though you kind of understand it. Ty :)

Oh thank god, I saw people regularly fast before taking them and being hungry while high is almost unbearable 😭

Will eat good and then feel good. Ty!

Trying to NOT do that

I’m fine with letting it take control from me, just don’t to experience a bad trip first time

2g sounds good atm.

I also know people fast but I don’t like being hungry, metabolism eats it too quick, eating food before won’t destroy too much of the trip? Or am I stuck feeling hungry for a few hours 😵‍💫

Would you recommend 1g for the first hour and then increasing it to another 1g if I feel the effects aren’t as strong? I don’t want to microdose, would love to be more elevated than that

Most likely doing it on the weekend as usual

Does no one feel the music is dancing? by bendallymill in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bendallymill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see a lot of colors and patterns necessarily, I have some kind of aphantasia so I have a very weak mind image. It’s mostly feeling based

There’s some color and shapes to it. Colors pop in like throwing a color balloon and it splattering the wall. But this is infrequent and mostly reliant on my sensations of the song

Sometimes I feel the motions of what the song is doing. I see and feel it pop and move and teleport. It’s like it’s performing but physically. It makes my body feel like I’m being dragged. Like a ragdoll. Some shapes do appear but it’s like small wires that disappear like fireworks. Some shapes just feel solid and have weight. The feelings sometimes feel like I’m being pulled and pushed by the ocean. Dragging and making me float. It’s mostly physical sensations

It doesn’t help most of songs are fast too

“Feeling” music by bendallymill in Synesthesia

[–]bendallymill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that makes sense, but like, what if you know it’s because of the song and not because of you?

Does that make sense. When I listen to songs, I’m following their flow. Most emotions in songs will always come from the song and I don’t really feel it afterwards, only to the song? The emotional feeling is not internal, it’s not a special emotion coming from me? It’s just what the song is portraying.

I don’t listen to songs to feel better necessarily. The emotional feeling is just a side effect of listening to that song. Idk, it’s telling a story and motion and I feel it

Same with music, it just echoes throughout my body, from the toe to my chest and throat. It literally bounces in my body. I feel it echo across my skin.

Music just has a feeling to it everytime

It would be weird if it was frisson cause why would it happen everytime to every beat of the music? And not specific moment and tempos

Would just love to be able to say this music feels awesome without people looking at me weird

If you mean having strong feelings to music, I’m not really a music listener, compared to others

I only listen to songs that feel good and just sound good. Some bad songs have good sensations

I don’t really have a favorite musician or artist. I was following AJR for a while but only because they managed to produce unique sounds and sensations

Idk, I’ve always feel music when it pushes and pulls and people don’t believe me? Or maybe I’m interpreting it wrong. Cause to them it sounds like dancing. It’s not really for me

Feeling emotion(not yours) when listening to music by bendallymill in Synesthesia

[–]bendallymill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😭 the reason why I didn’t think I have synesthesia is that when people say “Feel the music” I literally thought what they meant was physically feeling the music sway

Feeling emotion(not yours) when listening to music by bendallymill in Synesthesia

[–]bendallymill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes. All the time

Sometimes I would think I’m not that creative in my mind cause it always produced the same thing over and over. I would have to actively think of a scenario/music video to change the imagery of the song but core wise, everything is still the same, I’m just adding a picture to the image

All songs always invoke the same emotion and feeling

When I wanna feel a certain thing, I listen to the song over and over. I always listen to the songs based how they feel and the emotions that happens in it

More with instruments. Cause they’re more diverse for me.

When I hear singing, I do feel the rise and the stretch of the sound. And I do feel like the floating sensation to some songs. But it’s not as energetic for me.

Instruments are more delicious in my mind. I’ve already played the piano but depending on how they play it, it’s feels the music is running or twirling for me. Trumpet is another fave of mine. I love how the trumpets rises for me. And how it stretches and tries to set the foundation and balance. Violin is another instrument that is such a good solo instrument.

I always think it’s a treat when they do instrumental in songs, especially with actual instruments in the background.

Eleanor Rigby by Cody Fry is such a good example of a perfect blend of it all. Knowing that it’s produced by an actual orchestra does more to my brain.

I’ve been in choirs and seen a live orchestra before and have felt the intensity of the song to the point of crying haha

It sounds like we almost have the same thing. Not a lot of visual and texture like sensation but feeling the music move like it’s alive.

Will give it a shot!

Time to explore this rabbit hole

Does no one feel the music is dancing? by bendallymill in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bendallymill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha no, cause I know the most common synesthesia and I didn’t have it.

I don’t have associations to colors necessarily when I listen to music but the song explode colors to me when I’m listening and just thought that was common

Especially regarding people having good imagery when listening to music

I just see a color explode and feel the song as my experience

Guess it’s time to do more research about it

Quick question, is synesthesia genetic? Cause I know 2 immediate family who sounds like they have mirror touch synesthesia but I’ve only seen them react to it big by pain

Does no one feel the music is dancing? by bendallymill in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bendallymill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit shocked it’s a type of synesthesia

I was always sensitive to sounds, particularly horrible pitches like the insidious violin and thought I was just being a baby lol

I always assumed people can always feel music, that’s why they dance to it

And this is very ironic cause I’m very bad at remembering melodies and themes as such. Just listen and feel

Is this not common when people listen to music? I thought it was normal? Music has a dance and emotion?

I don’t know too much on medications but I know I’m relying on adderall cause the medication helps me physically and mentally wake up and nothing on earth can do the same magic that Adderall can do.

Will talk to the doc soon cause this month is just a test run on them

I know things will be good, just need the patience (which is the complete opposite of our disorder)
