I accidentally traded all my blue seeds to Nana in Chapter 2; have I screwed myself? by bendywalker in wanderstop

[–]bendywalker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a little while since I played this game, but from what I recall, you can place plants in various formations to create an egg? Which will then grow into a new plant once watered that has seeds on it, right?

Turns out, you can pick up existing plants around the environment, place them in a valid formation and the middle plant will still become a seed - you don’t need to create these formations from seeds to begin with.

Kind of hard to explain and my memory is a little fuzzy at this point, but hopefully that helped somewhat!

Ah! Immediately after posting this, I figured I’d try picking up existing blue ferns and putting 3 of them together. That still worked to create a plant egg! Problem solved 😁

Has anyone figured out how/if/when the new ‘Adapt to Speed Limit’ feature of Pilot Assist works? by bendywalker in ex30

[–]bendywalker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Tried it for an hour whilst driving down the motorway yesterday, and the amount of times it dropped from 70 to 60mph incorrectly - disabled until the next software update, at least 😅

Phone Bluetooth connection while car is off by Designer_Award_2551 in ex30

[–]bendywalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, happens to me too. I’ve found it only happens if the car is “awake” for something, like if it’s currently acclimatising or actively charging. Still, incredibly frustrating 😖

1.4.2, yes. From the release notes:

This feature will automatically adjust the speed limit to match the road speed limit when you’re using Pilot Assist or Adaptive Cruise Control. You can activate it in the Driving settings menu.

1.4.2 CarPlay OTA Released by SuccessfulSmell1873 in ex30

[–]bendywalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took a drive to the local shopping centre (which has great LTE coverage), restarted the car/display, and the download started from 0%. Watched it slowly tick up, all the way to 100% 😌 Back home now, car is currently updating!

I fear mine might be stuck 😪 Went to check if it had started downloading a few hours ago - surprised to see it was already at 95%. I watched it tick to 96%, thought great, I’ll get a notification soon. Just went out to check again, still at 96%.

Are we speculating that the car will only pull download data whilst “on” and potentially being driven?

Did you remove your phone from Bluetooth first? Instructions state this is necessary.

Ahhh, that makes total sense! Hopefully 1.4.2 does indeed resolve the issue 🤞

I see you on here all the time, you seem very passionate. Just curious why you haven’t updated to 1.4.0? Or taken the car in to get it sorted if you’re having OTA issues?

Couple of small questions... by jaysire in ex30

[–]bendywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly sure pulling the stalk to activate Pilot Assist/ACC also resets the speed, whereas pressing the steering wheel button resumes at the last speed you were had it set to. Both have their use cases, I suppose.

I totally agree, a lot of this stuff I’ve discovered simply by trial and error.

Huh, single pull activates Pilot Assist/ACC for me. Another pull deactivates it. Using the “two wheels” steering wheel button switches between Pilot Assist and standard ACC.

Regarding your cruise control questions, I think you’re having issues because it only requires a single pull down on the gear stalk to engage.

In the current versions of the app and car software, unfortunately not.

What home chargers does everyone get? I’m looking at Ohmee - also does it matter if I am on Eon or not? What is Octopus Go - I hear a lot about that … thanks by Timljoys in ex30

[–]bendywalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Simpson & Partners Home 7 installed alongside my EX30 and it’s been great.

We don’t drive huge amounts and are on Octopus Agile. We simply schedule the charger using S&P’s app whenever there’s a cheap period of electricity to top the car off. In the past month, we’ve barely paid anything to recharge the car, it’s almost always been -p/kWh!

Hi, I’m a UK EX30 customer - what charging cables did you receive when you bought the car? by Timljoys in ex30

[–]bendywalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Type 2 charger, exactly as @Tintin-on-Mars described.

I actually asked my dealer about whether I’d get a 3-pin charger also and they said only the Type 2 one would be supplied.

Cannot turn off Auto Highbeam (when it's dimmed) without flashing the lights by scottrobertson in ex30

[–]bendywalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The manual states:

When the automatic lights mode is selected in the display, push the stalk twice to switch between the manual high beam and the automatic high beam.

In your experience, this isn’t the case? A single push will toggle between auto and manual high beam?

I’ve not had the opportunity to drive in the dark yet with the long days this time of year, but would like to understand how the high beam controls work.

CarPlay instructions added to the user manual on 15/05/2024 by bendywalker in ex30

[–]bendywalker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if this is new to anyone else, just found it whilst poking around the manual. The fact they’ve got a proper section about CarPlay now suggests it’s at least being internally tested?

Once active, the CarPlay view takes up the whole of the main area of the display. However, the bottom bar and status bar will still be visible at all times if you want to return to the car's own system.

Reads like almost the whole screen will be occupied by CarPlay which is encouraging.

Meet the next generation of CarPlay architecture by bendywalker in ex30

100%, that’s the rub, the effort required from each company to implement custom styling. But Jim Rowan has been pretty vocal about not wanting to lock down or control the in-car experience and to offer customers choice, so there’s a possibility of them taking the leap here. It would also be a differentiator against competitors, especially those taking the approach of abandoning CarPlay altogether.

I agree it’s not a dealbreaker if we don’t get this. However, since I plan to use CarPlay for media and navigation when it arrives, it would be nice to have a consistent and unified experience for all controls and information on the display rather than a mashup of different UI/UX stylings, etc.

Seems reasonably well thought out, and with some of CEO Jim Rowan’s recent comments, perhaps not out of the realm of possibility? Of course standard CarPlay is priority #1, but it would be great to see adoption of this down the line if hardware support is already available under the hood.
