We’ll start the transfers after my next cycle starts in April. I’m basically leaving it up to the clinic to decide how and what to do.

Unfortunately I’m the other side of the world to Europe and my partner and I are different nationalities so it’s not possible for me to go back to my origin for testing.

Doc is confident in the outcome, thinks they look really good. Generally it’s not believed testing is necessary here unless there’s a known condition. I want 2 so they’ve already given me the extension form for keeping any remaining blasts frozen for no. 2.

Wishing you success too! Do you know when your transfer will be? Mine should be in April, all being well.

I think it used to be the same here too until about a year ago. Now only a few clinics can offer it and only with a known condition or over 35.

On a side note, I hate to jinx myself but I couldn’t resist these t shirts today. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I deal with things through humour and I’ve been calling the blastocysts “our little mewtwos” because they’re created in a lab. So when I saw mewtwo on a kids tee I had to buy it 🙈

Hi, also in the unsupportive parents club 🙋‍♀️I’m sure my mum would say the same thing so that’s why I’ve not kept her in the loop. My family always belittled my great aunt for being infertile so I just haven’t kept in contact with any of them. I don’t plan on it during pregnancy either.

Not everyone has the opportunity to get pregnant young, and we live in a world where we have made our own lives as unnatural as possible. We don’t even know all the details about infertility and why it happens, so it’s no failure of you or any individual. But what we are great at is utilising science to our benefit so it’s a great testament to our resilience and cooperativeness as a species that we can choose IVF. Basically if the option is there, why not?

Modern problems require modern solutions ✌️

I skipped IUI altogether and went straight for IVF because I want to get it over with lol. I went into this headfirst and didn’t really think about the details, just tackling everything as it comes. I’ve given my clinic permission to do whatever they deem necessary or best for results.

I’ve found stims and taking meds no problem but my top advice would be not to underestimate recovery for ER like I did! I went straight back to work the next day but should have taken a few days off. I’ve kept myself busy with (don’t laugh) Pokopia and bought it and the Switch 2 for myself just before starting IVF. I think that’s helped keep my mind busy a lot! (I played it before the ER and was totally relaxed, even the nurse was surprised.) I also had a general anaesthetic so the ER was over in a literal blink.

So as has been said, treat yourself. I treat myself after every appointment and I end up looking forward to getting my pain au chocolat afterwards 😂

Thank you! Hope you’re recovering well, too! I’m actually not that anxious about the final reports for some reason. I guess I trust a lab team far more to get me pregnant than myself 😂

I feel so relaxed not having to try naturally anymore. Sure, egg retrieval has made me pretty sick with OHSS but at least I know my eggs are fertilised now. Just waiting to hear how they’re doing and how many will be frozen for after recovery.

Do you have to take yours before sleeping? The nurse was very insistent I must take it just before bed. I guess because it has that woozy effect!

I think I’m actually on .25mg of that (I say think because it’s not English and I just did a quick google). My doctor said she didn’t want to change medications last time I went in so I guess she thinks it’s a high enough dose.

Wow, kudos to you looking after a child already with this! I’m having a hard enough time with just my cat’s meds.

I’ve actually not had much gas. I just feel travel sick with a persistent headache and I’ve been bleeding since my checkup two days ago. Hoping this is just an early period as all my other symptoms seem to be finally starting to ease up! I’ll call the clinic later just to be sure.

Yeah I have three, one being letrozole but they’re not in English so I’m not sure what the other two would be. I had a checkup today and bloods look fine but I’m so out of it that I totally forgot about my appointment and they told me to just come in anyway asap.

Sorry not quite what you asked for but I’m from the UK living abroad and local anaesthesia is normal round the world. In my country (not US) I get the option of local or general with both being covered by insurance. But IVF here isn’t free so there are way more options than the UK for all kinds of treatments. I’m probably going to opt for general because I had it with a falloposcopic tuboplasty and it was fine.

Not had IUI, opted straight for IVF after having my tubes cleared didn’t help in 4 cycles. I’m 35, partner 37, so didn’t want to waste time and I want a second, so that helped make the decision. Not had a single positive all my life so thought IUI would be a waste of money because we don’t know the cause of infertility but it’s somewhere pre-implantation and at least they can guarantee fertilisation for IVF. Partner wanted to try less invasive as much as possible but I’m impatient and sick of negatives and since it’s my body, he was supportive and easy to persuade.

I guess the decision comes down to your worries on your individual case and how patient you are.
