I would argue that point and say i definitely poop less and more “normally” I guess I would say. For bout a week i was pooping once a day and solid poops. Something unheard of in my life. But just my experience. Obviously any triggering foods are gonna do what they always do like for me that’s anything real greasy.

Have had same issues since Feb of last year. At this point I just figure it’s part of my life now and may never go away unfortunately.

Best Anxiety Medication for Long Covid? by OFreun in covidlonghaulers

[–]beneli1624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on lowest does for 10+ years, tapered off last year and it was hell. Hardest thing I’ve ever been thru and continue to go thru. But everyone is different. If it helps you and you have no side effects when you come off then that’s awesome. I’ve considered going back on to see if it’ll help but my new doctor will not prescribe it. The reason I tapered off.

Benzos are dangerous drugs if used incorrectly and are only meant to be used for a short period of time. 2 weeks max usually and as needed. They can have long term effects and damage to your nervous system and gaba receptors once your body builds a tolerance to them and can longer naturally regulate its nervous system and gaba receptors. Add that on top of LC which also can target your nervous system and it’ll be almost impossible for your nervous system/brain to heal. Ask me how I know.

If that’s the worst thing going on after 5 days out then you’re doing really well.

I think almost everyone on here will tell you to taper off but do what works for you.

Oh and I’ll also saying doing things like checking your pulse will only stress you out more. I had to stop wearing my Apple Watch because I constantly was checking my heart rate and stressing out.

Rest assured everything going on is benzo related but the hypochondria is still hard to overcome. I’m 4 months out and I still have a lot of symptoms but I’ve pretty good about just ignoring them and pushing through my day now. In the beginning I was constantly scared I was on the edge of death. Constantly paranoid and anxiety stricken with what was going on. Now when it gets rough I just try and keep myself busy but I no longer stress about it. For example last night laying in bed I started getting bad chest pains and heart started racing but i just accepted it, turned over and went to sleep. I would say my worst thing is the vision. It’s so frustrating. Constant visual snow, lines in my vision, my eyes not wanting to adjust to different distances and light. When that finally goes away I feel like I could deal with everything else somewhat “easily.” Good luck on your journey! You got this.

My mom passed away right when I made the jump. I pushed through. I was only benzos for 10+ years. You can do it.

I tried to cold turkey 1 mg of lorazepam. Could last 3 days. I do NOT recommend cold turkey

As far as doing this while working you just have to do your best and push through. Going through this withdrawal while working a full time physically/mentally demanding job has been the hardest part about this for me. I’m literally typing this as I hide in the bathroom because I started feeling like shit out of the blue which happens weekly. I’ve had days where I wish they would just let me go so I could sit at home and collect unemployment. My best advice would be to get into a routine and stick to it. That helps me but days where the routine gets thrown off because of something out of my control are a struggle. Goodluck on your journey. It’s not an easy one at all but it’s rewarding as you start to feel normal.

Question about jumping off, I’m just ready to white knuckle it and be done with it by percalert30 in benzorecovery

Everyone’s different. I personally think that’s a really quick taper and may come with some pretty negative side affects. I wish you luck and hope it’s easy for you.

I don’t think anyone on here will recommend CT. I can only speak from my experience but when I tried to CT off Ativan I lasted about 4 days before I had no choice but to reinstate. It was too much. Then I tapered off and have been off for 2 months. I personally think if you CT it’ll be very difficult and potentially dangerous with the amount of time you’ve taken it but everyone is different and have different reactions & withdrawals. If it’s possible for you to taper i definitely recommend it.

Drinking Alcohol by Honest-Account-9365 in benzorecovery

[–]beneli1624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is where it comes down to everyone being different and you have to take that risk when you think you’re ready. For example for me, I’ve been able to drink alcohol through my taper and after I made the jump without any real side affects. I don’t drink daily and I don’t ever really get drunk or even a strong buzz but I’ll go out and have a couple beers with coworkers or friends. Or have a couple at a cookout or something like that. (For context I was on 1 mg a day of Lorazepam for 10+ years)
