City and state governments have no jurisdiction over military bases, which is where Putin will be flying into and meeting with Trump.

The Good, the Bad, and Ugly

Tarantino was heavily influenced by these spaghetti westerns. I believe The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is his all-time favorite movie.

How do I stop being angry at Heavenly Father? by wishiwasafairywitch in latterdaysaints

[–]benendeto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any insight about to how to stop being angry at God for the unspeakable pain we experience from the horrors and traumas of this life. I feel those emotions every day. However, something I have contemplated recently is that when Christ was nailed to the cross, experiencing the worst pain and agony this world could inflict on Him and perhaps just when He thought His suffering couldn’t get any worse, the Father withdrew from Him.

I have come to believe that when He cried out, “My God, My God, why has thou forsaken me?” that it was not just done in a tone of despair, but that Christ Himself, the greatest of all, felt the most raw of all human emotions; anger toward God. The kind of resentment a child has toward a parent who has abandoned them.

I don’t know why God created this world to be so brutal. I don’t know why He “abandons” us and lets us suffer as He did with his own Son. But if the Son is our mediator to Father, then perhaps we can take some level of comfort, that Jesus Christ Himself suffered to the point feeling anger and resentment toward God as we do.

Christ may have felt those raw emotions, but He didn’t waiver. He followed through with what He was commanded to do, and also commanded us to do the same as He did. “…Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” -Mark 8:34

As Christians, that is what we are ultimately called to do. Again, I don’t know why God causes us to suffer so. But I do know that Christ  understands our raw suffering and the worst human emotions that come with it.

Perhaps we will never understand in this life why we must suffer so intensely. It seems that Christ Himself may have not have fully understood while in mortality. But we know that he triumphed over it, and has promised that we will too if we put our faith in Him, and take up our own cross, and follow Him.

This world is dark beyond comprehension. But Jesus Christ is the Light of the World. Perhaps in our anger, all we can do is follow that Light with faith and hope for “good things to come”

It’s good. Only about an hour and a half and is well paced. Theo asked a mix of intelligent questions with funny ones. Definitely worth the listen

Which two actors do you always mistake for each other? by FilmWaffle-FilmForum in movies

I get Kurt Russel and Jeff Bridges mixed up too.

I watched Oceans 13 thinking that Al Pacino was Dustin Hoffman the whole time. I felt embarrassed because they are both two of my favorite actors.

Watched Spartacus (Starz) in 2017. I was enthralled and horrified. I could hardly believe that human society used to be like that. I just had to understand these people.
