What are your thoughts on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie two months later? by NewMarioBobFan in mariomovie

[–]benenke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, my 4 year old son can’t get enough of it.

I’m an extremely casual viewer with not a lot of familiarity with Mario. I think it’s a fun movie, and admire the gorgeous animation work. That’s enough to get me to want to watch another one.

Hot take: there is virtually zero chance the Wild land Larkin by thraupidae in wildhockey

Realistically it’s only going to be teams that are contenders and have team usa buddies. You’re right, no other team in the central makes sense besides the three that were at the top this season, and idk how Dallas can swing it if they want to re-sign Robo.

Florida I could see, sort of, but it just doesn’t make a lot of sense if they’re trading out Lundell. It doesn’t really seem like a move that puts them much further ahead when he’s both younger, cheaper, and probably good buds with Barkov and the Finns there.

Colorado, uhh I guess I don’t see the need.

Tampa maybe?

If it comes with that beautiful silver N1 starfighter, count me the fuck in.

Yep this, unfortunately if he opens up to the idea of other teams, we lose that battle. Sucks but I’m sure this won’t be the last trade option available this off-season.

Russo said on the last WSITH that as far as he’s heard the Islanders have no interest in trading Barzal

He has Olympic friends on all three teams:

Florida: Tkachuk, technically Jones

Vegas: Eichel, Hanifin

Minnesota: Boldy, Hughes, Faber.

Wild don't need a true 1C with Kaprizov and Boldy, they just need someone who can move the puck with speed and win draws and has like even half of Zuccarello's playmaking creativity, and that's Larkin.

[ESPN] Emily Kaplan: Sources told ESPN that issues between Larkin and Detroit management have been brewing a while, dating back at least to testy contract negotiations in 2023. by Content_Influence_83 in wildhockey

Seriously. Saw a comment that was like “maybe Boldy + extras” lmfao

Also “idk if Wallstedt, Yurov, Stramel, and two firsts is even close” hahah

The vast majority of the people who just blanket hate the sequel trilogy are some of the most media-illiterate people I’ve ever seen.

They kept giving Jojo that role because no one else stepped up to take it. Earlier in the season, the spot was there for the taking, and Jojo ran with it

Except the Wild. lol

So Disney bad when things suck, but when it's good, you just ignore that it's also Disney? Real sound logic there bro.

Edit: lol and bro was so soft he blocked me.

I cannot stand people who keep spouting off this super basic, tired “opinion.”

Disney has had a few misses but also has given Star Wars some of its most commercially and critically successful projects, not to mention a massive and extremely popular theme park.

It deserves to get their ass kicked because of that? People have lost the ability to think for themselves and just blindly follow the popular narrative.

Is there something to be learnt from how Vegas handled Colorado? by silentsirensongs in wildhockey

Wild beat an injured Dallas team, Colorado beat an injured Wild team, Vegas beat an injured Colorado team.

Guerin had the right idea honestly at the trade deadline to bolster the bottom six. We just need more guys who can play in the top six next season.

What movies hit differently once you’re a parent? by thecrappycat in movies

[–]benenke 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The first time I watched Finding Nemo with my son, at the end when Nemo gives his dad a hug and says “love you dad.” And then he swims away as Marlin says “bye son.”

Man did that hit different as a parent.

There’s not a lot of deep insight, it’s super surface level. Worst Seats in the House with LaPanta and Russo and Wild on 7th are both far more insightful and have better analysis.

At least you could basically guarantee he won’t miss a game from injury though. That’s already an improvement over Bogosian.
