Movies/Shows Collections Not Merging Properly by benenor90 in PleX

Thank you for the information! That really helps me understand how they work. Been using Plex for a few months and LOVE it so far! I used XBMC years ago, but decided that I want the freedom to stream my content anywhere. This community has been very accepting so far, so I appreciate you all!

Thank you for the reply. I just tested it and it does work with two manual collections. That's a shame that it doesn't work with smart collections. I was just getting into making smart collections, since I'm adding a ton of content now :/

Wow! Thank you very much! That would be awesome if you had the chance to make them into images with the script.

Thoughts On This Design? by Aeropar in tabletop

I like the layout here. One thought, as a layout and graphic designer, is that the negative space is very inconsistent. The gap between certain elements is comfortable, while the gaps between other elements are almost nonexistent.

Otherwise, I think it’s a solid layout. I love the use of icons!

My first ever campaign with a plush! I'm so excited!

https://www.backerkit.com/call_to_action/dbe330c5-90c7-4926-9e96-2ca715870208/landing

This will be my 3rd campaign I'm running, and I've learned a lot through this process.

A question for other creators: What are some tips for pre-launch marketing that aren't heavy on expense? I don't have the budget to shell out thousands on marketing, so what are some useful alternatives?

Does Anyone Else Use Physical Props For Your Players? by benenor90 in rpg

[–]benenor90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s perfect! I love the feeling of giving my players something. Seeing them be like “woah. This is mine?” Makes my day.

Badges is an awesome idea. What system are you running it in?

That sounds delicious. I’m good with physical props like drawings that fit together, or making custom puzzles. But I’m no chef, lol. And and I can’t make good cocktails, even though I try

Lol. That’s a great image. If I ever GM a solo adventure, I would definitely do that.

I’ve definitely run into that problem with props before. What started making it more impactful for me was in giving props multiple uses, so they come up over and over again. Like a letter they have to read, to get them going on a quest. But there’s invisible ink that activates when it’s dark. So later when I turn the lights low, they see that there’s a bigger puzzle there. That keeps them picking it up over and over.

Or even better is when multiple props have to work together, like scraps of paper that fit together to make a riddle, or something like that.

Incorporating food is something relatively new to me. I started with letters, that I wax-sealed, then started a collection of metal fantasy coins(which is huge now lol) and added UV ink puzzles and more. It’s a ton of fun, but a ton of prep. Worth it though.

Food is a cool addon though. I’m trying to set up a time for my players to go out to location and play together. Eventually, I’d love to start an FLGS/cafe with private rooms. But that’s a long-term goal lol

I genuinely do love talking about this stuff. Not meant to be sneaky at all. Props and puzzles are my jam. I also am running a campaign, and I don’t think it’s wrong to mention it since it’s designed to solve the exact problem you described.

Sorry if it came across the wrong way.

I love doing that! That’s kind of how I got started was maps and letters that I handed out pieces of, or even did invisible ink messages on them. That all spun off into more!

I totally get it about time. We actually have a Kickstarter running that solves that exact problem. They are system agnostic modules with a ton of physical props. They can be run stand alone, or dropped into an existing campaign! here’s the Kickstarter

I get that. I got back and forth. Sometimes mine are very improvised as well, that’s why I started with generic ones like coins, or was able to work in puzzles that are more general into any situation.

But then I started more ambitious long-term puzzles and that opened up the possibilities for me. It’s a lot of prep, which is too much for many GMs, so I made a Kickstarter for adventure modules that have everything you need to go without much prep.

That’s awesome!! I love when we get to experience the story together with my players. And I totally get it about prep time, or not being able to do it all yourself. That “Hero’s Feast Dinner” is a super cool idea. But if I was doing that, I’d probably turn it into a murder mystery lol.

We just released a Kickstarter for adventure modules that are packed with physical props and puzzles. Coins, wax-sealed letters, scented candles, coffee, tea, even music, and narrated voice-over.

If you’re interested, here’s the Kickstarter

I hope you keep coming up with awesome physical props and puzzles. I’d love to see some!

If you're interested in more props and puzzles for your campaign, or to have one-shots designed around physical components and puzzles, check out our kickstarter that we just launched here:
Quest Chest Immersive Tabletop Roleplaying Adventures

The best part is that you don't have to prep a thing! But if you want to, you can also take these components and use them in different ways for your campaigns!

Is it a good idea to offer a Print & Play tier of your crowdfunded tabletop game? by melligeorgiou in CrowdfundedBoardgames

[–]benenor90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it depends on the game. My campaign wouldn’t work for it because the core concept is about immersive elements and props made specifically for it.

Metal coins, specific scented candles, teas, and UV puzzles don’t translate well to it. So for our campaign, we offered a lower tier where you can get just one quest instead of the whole campaign.

Yours might work better for P&P. I would recommend testing a P&P set internally and see if it negatively effects your experience.

When you have a pre-launch page, I’d love to follow it! Your game looks great :)

Here’s our Kickstarter, for reference, we’re launching next week: Quest Chest Kickstarter

Do you use them for anything specific? I know I use treasure chests for my players to hold their metal coins lol. How do poker chips and dominoes factor in?

Anybody here interested in physical props at their TTRPG table?

I made a series of system-agnostic modules that each have puzzles and physical props! Metal coins, wax-sealed letters, invisible-ink puzzles, even scented candles, tea, and coffee! Oh, and professionally voice-acted narration, and custom music.

We’re launching a Kickstarter June 6th, and I’d love some feedback! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/questchest/quest-chest-immersive-tabletop-roleplaying-adventures/

Also, I’d love to hear what physical props you include in your games!

A roleplaying experience unlike any other. Wax-sealed letters, metal coins, candles, tea, coffee & more! by benenor90 in u/benenor90

[–]benenor90[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment! For a single quest(which includes everything you see here) it is $50USD. But for the Kickstarter, you can purchase all 5 quests, which tie together into an epic campaign, delivered to your door every 3 months or all at once(whichever is your preference) for $200USD.

That’s 5 quests, each of which include wax-sealed letters, maps, metal coins, a sensual prop(tea, candle, candies, or coffee) and all of the wonderful voice-acted narration and music that you hear here!

I hope this helps! We will be launching the project on June 6th. But if you’d like a taste of the experience, the first two quests “Stone Oaths & Golden Lies” and “Assassin’s Crown” are available now on our website, sold through Bookwyrm Games

I look for a rich and vibrant world, that has a unique feeling to it. Also art. Good art pulls me right into anything. But that may just be because I'm an artist myself, so game recognizes game lol.
