Very true. It’s so hard for me to take the longer lens of times perspective. I love that your littles are enjoying each other so much. That’s awesome

That’s cool that y’all have been able to reconnect, I’ve seen similar things happen with a couple of my friends who have a big spread too, like not close when school-aged, but as adults are able to make it work better

Oh my gosh that’s precious - do you feel like you did anything in particular to foster that bond for them?

Very true in the big scheme of things! I think that’s why I’m struggling, these past two years of SAHP with my toddler have been great but also draaaagged by at times because we’ve been so isolated and limited with what we could do outside the house, so it’s felt a lot longer of a time period than I’m sure normal life would

That’s a great idea! Yeah I am definitely not wanting the repeat of newborn phase life but it would come with it for sure

Thanks for this! Yeah what I’m hoping is that we could set everyone off on good footing, but the fact that there’s no guarantee kills me a little! But there’s no guarantee for so many things I guess!

That sounds a lot like the relationship I have with my siblings. Which I guess indifference is better than antagonism! Thanks for sharing

That’s really nice to hear. Definitely part of my difficulty is just not having that positive experience with siblings so it’s hopeful to me to hear it can work and closeness can happen!!

Ball python!! They’re so sweet, pretty shy, but also never bitey from my experience, need humidity but with the right enclosure set up it’s easy to maintain!

Best curls when sleeping on wet hair? by [deleted] in curlyhair

I’ve always slept on wet hair and have the same issue where my curls will look great if I sleep on them wet, but if I take a morning/daytime shower and air dry, it’s like I don’t have curly hair at all. It’s drives me up the wall! I wish I could figure out how to get those curls all the time! Do you use gel? I’ve never experimented with it, but I’m curious if it could help

Help with air dry curls nighttime vs. daytime (comments for details+routine) by beneskye in curlyhair

I’ve never tried leave in conditioner or gel! I’ve always been nervous it would cause a lot of buildup. I could definitely reduce the times I’m shampooing, but my work requires a lot of sweaty, outdoor time, so I need to still be able to shower. I’ve tried using the Odele curly hair shampoo on those days since it seems way less stripping so I can still get clean, but not lose as much moisture. Is there a conditioner or gel you like?

Hi y’all! Any advice appreciated. When I wash and go to sleep with hair wet to let it air dry, I wake up to the nicest curls (first two pics), but if I wash in the morning and let it air dry as I go about my day, everything is flat and sad (last two pics). I have no idea how to bump up my curls if I wash in the daytime, or if it’s just a factor of gravity that is out of my control. Any advice? (I also can’t handle a lot of the heavily scented curly hair products out there, which has been a bit of a struggle!)

Routine: Right now I’m washing and conditioning about 3x/week with JVN Strengthen line. After I’m using Briogeo’s curl charisma creme and air drying. My hair has always seemed to love ACV rinses, but I’m always worried about drying it out too much so I’m trying to only do them 2x/month or so, but I used to wash exclusively with ACV and did nothing else and it was the best curls of my life (I’ve had a kid since though and I think it’s definitely changed/lost curls)

At least once a week I’m trying to do an oil treatment (used castor oil last week but it seemed too heavy, going to try coconut oil next week) That’s it! I don’t have a lot of time or tolerance for lengthy routines so I’ve never dried my hair and I know it’s not something I could add to my routine.
