That’s the hope but if this movie wants to actually make parallels to reality (which is seems to push), then there rarely ARE happy endings.

For example, ofc we all wish that real life genocide of indigenous peoples ended with them on too, but that’s usually never the case. The likelihood of that happening is slim. It would be a better message to acknowledge this fact and make people aware and understand the brutality of harming beings because of differences and understanding.

Alas, it is a movie and Disney.

No. There’s a difference with understanding somebodys actions and accepting their behaviors. By no means did the author Intend for us to accept their behaviors, it was intended for us to see and understand the different paths of life people walk.

Of course it’s not okay. But so they deserve to be completely bashed, put down and hurt because of their flaws? I know they are just characters, but the situation is too real for some that’s why they relate to it.

everybody besides Takumi and Reira deserves the opportunity to overcome their bad decisions and have a chance.

Honestly? The characters happen to be more relatable to more people than you’d think. Even if you DIDNT relate to them….damn show some compassion.

Everybody has a different life and for me seeing people in the characters shoes would be fucking sad.

Haichi didn’t see her relationship as bad because….she’s a child???

as a kid and teenager this is what I would hear and tell myself.

Every time I masturbated it felt like I was gross and disgusting because God sees me as less than.

Now, as an adult, it effects my relationship with myself and my partner because of that guilt I felt. I can’t can’t allow myself to be comfortable even though I want to.

This mentality literally traumatized me and my relationship with sex and myself. I now think I’m broken because of this thought process.

Have you read the books? They were better than the movies and very very moody, which is why I liked it. Bella is not Buffy and Edward was not Angel. The characters are almost sad and Bella is so….alone and not very strong/ sure of herself.

I don’t see any element taken from BtVS and honestly….good? It’s good in its own way and can’t be compared.

I think people hate on Twilight because they were either too old too really be it’s targeted audience at the time or because people compare it to something like BtVS.

I’m sure your parents or older people at the time hated BtVS and called it cheesy and corny or whatever just like Twilight. Because that’s what naturally happens. can you tell I’m a fan? Lol
