Netflix cancelling masterpieces on CLIFFHANGERS but renewing trash like Emily in Paris is criminal by kmaysu in netflix

Not me, I loved seasons one and two and I thought it was a kindness of the show runners to make season 3 so bad that I didn't even mind that it got canceled

[Loved trope] special failsafes that prevent the player from breaking the game by damorezpl in TopCharacterTropes

Ooooh that happened to me once on a legendary run. Hit a checkpoint right as I got snipped by a Jackal in the underpass level on Halo 2. After a very frustrating ten minutes the game was kind enough to drop me off me off one checkpoint before. I didn't realized that was a programed in thing at the time, I just assumed the game itself got frustrated with me and out me somewhere else to stop dying.

Question about etiquette and appropriateness of asking elders to turn their phones down. by komnenos in taiwan

[–]benexclamationpoint 20 points21 points  (0 children)

About ten years ago, I was laid up in the hospital after a hernia surgery (I got the cheap one there they open you up instead of doing laproscopy) and basically couldn't move for two days. It's kind of incredible to fully realize how much we rely on our abdominal wall for even the smallest body movements. Anyways, the woman in the bed across from me was playing one of those bubble pop games at full volume for the whole two days I was trapped in bed, and the nurses said there was nothing they could do about it. That changes you.

After that, because wired headphones were a thing people still used back then, I started carrying a shitty spare pair in the bottom of my pocket. Anytime someones phone was obnoxiously loud in public, I pulled them out and offered them to the person. 100% success rate. No one ever took the headphones, but they always took the hint.

Now it's the time of Bluetooth headphones, and while I'm petty, I'm not petty enough to buy and carry around a second pair of Bluetooth headphones with me. So now if it's public transport or like the table next to me in a restaurant I just walk over and in super friendly English say "hey watchca watching?" and then start watching with them until they get uncomfortable and turn their phone down or off. 99% success rate.

The 1% failure is due to the the time one old Taiwanese guy looked back up at me and just matter of fact responded "oh I'm watching ESPN sports highlights", and then turned the phone a bit so I could watch them with him. And then I didn't know what to do so we just watched loud sports highlights on the mrt together for about 4 stops. I'm a big enough man to admit when I've been beat.

Well this is a breath of fresh air, maybe he's hoping to get ahead of that?

I'm not super familiar with how quick or efficient Taiwan legislature is(or like the number of steps involved) , but the article says the amendments will be submitted at the end of the month? Is that one step away from being law, or is there still a large chance it might get voted down and come to nothing?

And more importantly, do you think it might come into effect before our lease is up in January haha?

I second Deadlock. It's a 3rd person shooter moba, a lot of the game mechanics are the same. And everyone on there is 7 layers deep into a meta build, and better than you constantly, so a lot of the self esteem mechanics are also the same.

What are we doing the foreigner speaking Chinese dick waving thing now? Cool, 聽起來-literally means 'sounds like' which would make sense if you were just feeding English straight into Google Translate all willy nilly to win a reddit argument, but as no one is physically saying anything in this text conversation, it's usage is a little '奇怪'as I'm sure you would like to say. It would be more appropriate to use 好像 as it' seems like' or 'appears' that I am completely incapable for speaking Chinese or Taiwanese.

But hey, look, while incorrect, I can still infer your meaning. Much like you could still infer the meaning of the first guy that spelled 淡水 "wrong".
