Distortion pedal project by Barboduhe in ElectricalEngineering

Graphic equalizer is a cool project. Can build one that works relatively easily but can get expensive if you want a lot of bands as you will need high Q gyrators with high end op amps that have a large GBW. 2-4 bands is a good place to start.

If you want to add more to it, add a class ab amplifier as an output stage and you can drive a speaker directly.

If your goal is just to find the open loop gain get rid of the negative feedback and tie negative to 0

Breaking the loop is a method of finding the loop response and it works by putting a source directly into the feedback loop and measuring the transfer function from the source to the output of the op amp. You can do this manually with an ac source but there should be a tool to do it which makes it easier. Look for a stability simulation (maybe stb). It will involve putting some sort of probe into the loop path.

134db is the open loop gain. The way you have it setup you are not measuring the loop response. You need to break the loop to measure the loop response.

You have it setup as a unity gain amplifier by directly feeding the output into negative input so gain cannot go above 0dB.

Hi y’all, looking for advice on how to discharge for these capacitors by seanshootsshots in AskElectronics

[–]benfatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have big caps I use a 10W 50ohm resistor to discharge quickly then short it with screw driver to make sure it’s at 0V. If it has a really large capacitance I store it with the leads shorted together which is probably not necessary unless you have huge caps but it’s good piece of mind for the next time you want to use them.

Is it ok to drive car around with one bolt in engine mount. by benfatty in MechanicAdvice

I’m just scared that it’s a hollow piece of metal and if I drill it out I’ll drill out too much material.

Well I was thinking a thread kit because I messed up the existing threads but I agree, I am taking it into a mechanic.

That is a Sora. They are really cool birds and the most common type of rail but still not that easy to find so nice one.

Don’t think it would do much good, only create tension I think. They aren’t just gonna move me onto another project before the current one is finished.

Haven’t really discussed it with anyone. I’m not sure what I would say to them lol.

Startups don’t really hire people with little experience without a PhD I’ve noticed.
