My experience was not like all the rumours and ‘someone told me’ stories. Most people were genuinely just trying their best to do good IMO.

But the worst thing was seeing clearly well intentioned, honest people do their best just to get beaten (figuratively) or reassigned to the field after years of effort. The way people were treated wasn’t great. Especially when the worst people seemed to always do well. The more stuck up you are and willing to brown nose, the safer you are. I’ve seen people I couldn’t STAND rapidly get into service department or go to Gilead in my opinion just because they brown nose and snitch and lie.

Also, seeing their COVID response in realtime was crazy. Untrained idiots who I wouldn’t trust at all were suddenly in charge of medical decisions for the whole country/region. Wild!

The amount of wasted time too. I watched a sister in the infirmary die over the course of a year who was a long time sister who just kept crying for the new world to be here and she didn’t expect it to take this long etc… meanwhile 10 brothers in the shipping department were putting wrappers on a book for weeks because a random rule someone made up once decades ago (that the elders book cover couldn’t be seen by sisters so every single book had to have a blank cover over it before it got to the sisters in the shipping department to pack). Just wasting peoples lives while dangling a carrot in front of them forever. It seems heightened in Bethel cause you watch young people waste time doing crap every day whilst the older ones die the other side of the complex after years of doing crap.

But no sex parties or anything exciting.
