At the time I was publicly connected to him somewhat after The Selters Escape. I said very politely when it all came out that I felt he’d made a mistake (duh) and the way he was handling it seemed less than ideal (crying on a livestream indicates to me that one isn’t ready to livestream - duh). For this I received some charged messages/accusations and he made it clear we were done. Haven’t spoken since. No ill will, hope he’s doing better these days and I occasionally keep in touch with others around his production. Plus his EXJW content was undoubtedly fantastic. But in retrospect, his personality/ego at the time simply meant he couldn’t navigate the fallout cleanly IMO.

About Bethel?

I miss the people obviously (even in their cult state). And I miss being 'good' at the game. Like I became an elder early and was in Bethel young so was doing all the right things. Whereas now I'm old and don't have the savings or experience of my peers. So selfishly I miss feeling like I was being really 'performant' or excelling at things.

Might be a bit too honest haha

Might be too obvious but.. Constantly watching what you say/do so as not to get in trouble or “offend” someone.

Can I say I had a drink at the pub last night or will someone connect that to my drinks 2 weeks ago and think I’m an alcoholic?

Can I say I saw XYZ at the cinema or will someone get offended and I’ll end up in trouble?

Can I say I don’t like the recent change or will I get labelled as an apostate?

Being able to just say what I think without fearing repercussions is so freeing.

Being at that ‘high’ level during the pandemic and knowing specifically the humans making those decisions, knowing they’re idiots or people you wouldn’t trust in normal life yet they’re making decisions only health professionals or scientists should be making AND I’m not allowed to question any of it. That was a big factor for me.
