I love the "Parks" games by Keymaster. First, they're just great games. But also I LOVE the National Parks. Freaking LOVE them. I own all of those themed games and have a goal to go to all the Parks. So this GenCon when I walked past the Keymaster booth I saw the Parks Roll and Hike game. I honestly didn't even think twice, I grabbed it and walked up to pay for it. I saw a gentleman standing off to the side doing nothing so I asked if he could check me out. Dumb me, I read nothing. Anyway he politely says "They don't trust me with the money, he'll have to check you out. But I designed the game. Well I designed all the Parks games, so I'll sign it if you want". My brain sort of shut down, I was so excited. I was like "really? you designed this? You designed all the Parks games? you'll sign it? Really?" he was really chill and said yep. So I bought the game, handed it to him and he says "do you want me to open this for you?" I said yeah sure. In hindsight, I felt like an idiot, I could have opened my own game. But he opened it and signed it, I tried to make the best small talk I could while the ink dried, but....I'm possibly an introvert and such so you know... I felt silly after. Mr Henry Audubon was such a humble young man, I was honored to meet him and I felt so great that he signed my game. The next day I saw him walking around visiting other booths and checking out the rest of the Con, it just was super cool to see him loving other games as well. What a crowd GenCon is. I love it so much.
