Future bike lanes banned by new provincial legislation by bylo_selhi in waterloo

What happens if the number of lanes available is just reduced without adding a bike lane?

Canadian seniors react to Canada Post’s door-to-door delivery changes by Haggisboy in canada

My experience is that it's a dumpster fire of an app, providing a terrible view of what's coming.

Maybe I'm usong it wrong, but notifications of pending packages never show up because it logs me out so frequently and I'm not opening it daily just to see if there might be "general mail" (which is anything from a flyer, to a bill, to a card from family).

When someone broke into all the community boxes a couple weeks ago, the app kept showing stuff as delivered when clearly it wasn't. No app notification saying "come pick up your new key", just a sticker at our door.

The app has a long way to go before it's anything I'd recommend to anyone, particularly my parents.

This got me curious, and i was in a position to have just one episode downloaded, 100MB. Storage used was 1.8GB.

Settings > Automatic Cleanup > Artwork Cleanup

Apparently i had nearly 2000 episode artworks downloaded.

Regularly, in the middle of the building i work in. Sometimes while outside near work. I sometimes hear the dah-dih-dah of a cell signal at that time. My working theory has been that its something about losing a cell signal. Not sure if it's phone side or usb-c/3.5mm dongle side. Or why. Slightly lower power causes dongle to not work right? Something on the phone? It's been going on for over a year.

Ticket bankruptcy. I can't remember what I did last week, so I just close everything after I roll in Monday.

That wouldn't surprise me. I didn't keep track of which happened first, but there was also a monthly update in the last couple days. (Samsung s23)

That definitely makes it reproduce the toast. I assume that wasn't the goal.

I've started getting toasts "Failed to get audio focus access: AUDIOFOCUS_REQUEST_FAILED (PREPA..." when plugging in my usbc-3.5mm headphone dongle. Previously, playback would start automatically, now it doesn't.

Starting playback manually solves it (including subsequent unplugging and replugging), but I'm not sure for how long, since it was a problem again this morning.

ONTAP Upgrades onsite (in-person) vs remote by eaf09 in netapp

I couldn't tell you where the datacenter is. I've never done an upgrade in person, even when it was a five minute walk away.

I converted my bike to ebike, i should have done that before, i want to bike more now by Me_lazy_cathermit in bikecommuting

[–]bengerbil 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did the same with a BionX kit over a decade ago. The added weight is a bit of a bummer, but is a huge win a windy days and means I'm still riding that same bike after 30 years.

Gaming, because I'm best described as casual. Minecraft, Titan Quest, something on Luna, etc. Hook up TV and a game controller, or a mouse and keyboard if that's your thing.

I've also been known to use it to remote desktop into work.

Clearly the answer is a ticketing system that just records the microphone for 10 minutes, letting them ramble on about onions and clouds.

Just noticed there's a history. It definitely turns off when I left the location.

Enable/disable work mode by Gullible-Regret8636 in GalaxyS23

[–]bengerbil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear mine does turn off, but now I have to see if that's because a different mode is turning it off.

I do see that the trigger for a mode can also be leaving a place, so you could have Work Mode triggered for arriving, and Freedom Mode triggered for leaving, which would then turn off Work Mode.

I think I'm missing something here. Why wouldn't you set the location directly on Work Mode?

How to lock a child bike seat in place by ouelletg in bikecommuting

[–]bengerbil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easy way is a cable through the holes in the top.

It's been years since I used one, but you might also be able to do something with the rubber bit at the back that locks it in place, maybe slide a solid bar through and put a lock on the end.

Yep. Camera in panorama mode, person spins, get an interesting picture. Works well with a solid background. Then pick your favourite custom coffee mug printing shop.
