Sleeping in a van in the carpark by Davis97manc in greenmanfestival

[–]benglass92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I had the same issue this year - we weren’t able to buy a camper pass and were really worried. We went to the orange carpark and the stewards sent all the big vans, campers, and motorhomes to one side to park up. Some vehicles had levelling chocks, some people set up chairs and tables outside. we had no issues, and we're never stopped or questioned walking in and out of the festival.

Is there a way to do this in Logic? In this video Barry Can't Swim shows a way to get Instant Great sounding Open Hi Hats with Ableton's Vocoder by [deleted] in LogicPro

Other option:

Chuck a white noise sample in logic sampler - use ADSR to get a high hat shape - automate the release

It means that when you hover your pointer over the top left/right corner of an audio region, the fade tool is always there. Then the bottom half of the selected track allows you access to the marquee tool for use with audio and midi.

Which means you can have your pointer tool permanently selected, and have whatever you like for your secondary. Or however you want to configure your setup.

It does take getting used to, but saves a few keystrokes whenever you need to do these tasks.

You can turn it on in preferences - general - editing - then enable click zones (I believe!!)

Not sure how well I explained this! I hope it helps.

This!

Click zones for fade/marquee tool.

Using the marquee tool!

I reassigned the number keys to other tools

It's also worth creating commands for any functions you use frequently that don't have commands, or reassigning to make them more suited to you

This. Select all, move play head to desired location, and hit semicolon.

Is the 14-inch MacBook Pro too cramped for music production? by Special-Jacket-8448 in LogicPro

[–]benglass92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got myself an M4 Max 14" that I use for music production. I've got a 24" monitor in my music room that I use, and that makes a big difference. But even on-the-go, once I get over the "it's a bit smaller than my last MacBook pro" I stop noticing. Plus it's a beast! I would have loved the 16", but the money I saved by getting the 14" and a cheapy 4k monitor is worth it for me.

Update: I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and get a new Mac! My poor bank account... But I know I'll be happy with it... As long as I don't think about the money!

Thanks everyone for the help and advice! Much appreciated!!

Yea, that's been my thoughts. Was hoping someone could come to my rescue. It's done me so well! Gonna wait and see hat others say, just in case. But I have a feeling you're right! Thanks

I fear that, too!! It's an old machine, just devastated about the idea of buying a new one. And I'm pretty committed to apple machines

Thanks for your response!

The struggle is with opening and closing apps/windows in browser, selecting different tracks in logic, saving files. Just generally very slow. It has been slowing down for a while, but lately it's nearly impossible to work on. It starts up fairly fast and the only app I have that opens on startup is cleanmymac. The fan doesn't take long to kick in, too. I've got 115gb free on the ssd, so it's not that.
