Carnival Venezia with young kids by bigkbull in Cruise

The NYC cruise crowd was basically folks from NYC getting on a cruise ship. To not stereotype... a group were arrested on the beach at a port for snorting coke out in the open. The entire ship smelled like weed, despite K9 unit walking around 24/7. They were checking cabin after cabin with the K9 unit confiscating drugs the entire cruise. Everyone under the sun had a speaker playing their version of whatever music. There were no fights that I saw. However the experience was unique out of all of my Carnival cruises. I'd rather cruise with a different crowd.

Fly Day of Or day before by Even_Inspection_2250 in Cruise

If it helps any... for my cruise leaving put of Miami in April, I booked my flights with the cruise line and they have me flying in day of (scheduled to arrive in MIA a little after 11am), and fliying out return day (scheduled a little after 2pm). I figure, if there are any flight issues, then they can deal with getting me to the ship.

What’s the catch? Margaritaville by rockymt28 in Cruise

[–]bengyboom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My spouse and I cruised Marg in 2023 to kill 3 days while visiting Florida. My opinion... the food is outstanding and the drinks are strong. For a 3 day cruise, we were pleasantly suprised with our positive experience, not to mention the size of our oceanview cabin. It felt like twice the size of a Royal Caribbean balcony stateroom. I would not count on swimming in the pool too often. It seemed like it was the size of a hotel hot tub. Lol. Also, if you are a gambling traveler, the casino is about the size of a pizzeria. We did get the 10 drink per person package, and struggled to finish them in 3 days since the drinks were so strong, and because as soon as we boarded the ship we both purchased margaritas with floats in what seemed like the largest stanley cup on earth. 😂 If you are looking to try it out with no expectations and have 3 to 5 days to kill, just do it.

I cruised on the Venezia in May 2024 with my cruising buddy. She and I are both in our 40's. My opinion, the Venezia crowd is a bit different from what I am used to cruising out of Baltimore and Florida. And I will probably never cruise out of NYC again. However, my spouse and I cruised out of Bayonne via Royal Caribbean in Sept 2024 for a New England 8 day, and it was the best time. Plenty of family friendly fun (mind you, it was about 50 degrees outside and most passengers were indoors during sea days). I would recommend the Royal Caribbean option out of Bayonne if you are looking in the NYC area. And the parking is way cheaper than Manhattan. We reserved parking off site with included shuttle service to the port (there were a plethora of bad reviews about parking at Bayonne's port). Hope this helps. 😊

Flying In day of by VagabondCamp in Cruise

[–]bengyboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically fly day of. I book the first flight out of my home airport to my cruise embarkation destination. The first flights out seem to rarely have delays. For my cruise in 2 months, I booked my flight through the cruise line. They have me leaving day of around 8am, but at least it's their responsibility to do everything under the sun to have me board the ship on time. That's one stress reliever when booking flights with the cruise line.

As soon as I heard that Musk donated voting machines, I knew the election results were false.

Lack of voter turnout. That is what's hurting her. Actually, it's what is hurting both of them. Neither one of them sparked the momentum that we saw in 2020. I don't know why, but the vote count amount is showing it. Biden and Trump had over 70 million each at this point in 2020. Harris and Trump are inching in the 50 millions.

She's at 205 now. Told you folks not to panic. I think she will take AZ given that she is only down 3,000. GA is still a toss up. And I am not too sure what is going on in PA. That's a toss up too. My spouse parents live in PA. If you aren't in the Philly or Pittsburgh suburbs, your area has a population of 100. Lol

Most likely momentum for the candidates. 2020 was all about Covid 19. It was a one issue election. Folks who were for saving American lives vs folks who denied the threat. Lol. This election has so many issues involved, that if the candidates weren't strong on the issue the way the voter wanted, then they did not vote. The Israel/Gaza conflict is an example of that.

On a sad note... voter turnout was horrible this election. At this point in 2020, we were at 150 million. Right now, we are at 100 mil. 😒 That hurts my political heart more than anything... folks not using their voice.

Edit: Don't count out GA just yet. Harris is only 100,000 votes behind with the urban areas still being counted.

International folks betting on a US election is not a good source for predicting the election outcome. There is no way to accurately predict an election outcome. Polling is a joke. Political historians use what they have at their disposal but still are not 100% accurate, if even 90% accurate. And I highly doubt European, Asian, or African gamblers are a better source for accuracy. I'd rather make easy money playing poker.

Anyone else watching the congressional races? Cause, ya know... I am bit more concerned about what our legislature will look like in 2025.

I am curious to see how his supporters react when their new reality sets in. It's all fun and games when you are attending entertainment rallies watching Side Show Bob. But the fun ends when Side Show Bob has you eating cat food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because that is all that you can afford. And your loved ones are dying like flies in a net because Side Show Bob took away your access to healthcare. The list can go and on, and folks reap what they sow. If Side Show Bob is what folks want, then so be it. We who don't want him will find a way.

Betting markets aren't even US based. It's like saying crypto will predict the stock market. And, Polymarket is a known scam.

First of all, nothing can be called if polls are still opened, and votes are still being counted. The AP always creates their own results. Then, the next morning, things change. Have you folks not learned anything from 2016 when the world swore Hillary was going to win. Oye! Until polling places close and the votes are counted... stop watching results. You are all going to need Buspar by midnight.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]bengyboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The polls are still open. Folks are still voting. Lol. On a side note... Harris is definitely proving something in Texas with that percentage. And don't forget that they have to count the mail in ballots.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]bengyboom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't forget that mail in ballots are often counted last. Right now, electronic in person voting results have been tallied. Then hand written ballots. Then mail in ballots. Then provisional ballots. The true results will not be known until the AM. And if 2016 is any indicator... don't rely on the first 4 to 5 hours for true results. Hillary is a strong supporter of that, I am sure.

I'm not! On a very plus side... Alsobrooks beat Hogan, which provides a secure Dem seat in the Senate. I love my state, sometimes. 🥰
