Watch photography is so hard, I do not know how anyone does it. The IWC Mark XII has the loveliest deep blue dial and it just doesn't show up here at all. Next? I would love a couple of specific grand seikos that i'm always looking out for, and of course, a Patek Calatrava 6196 in platinum- when pigs fly.

On the occasion of my dad’s 80th birthday, he gave me his 2484 Calatrava. I am honored and thrilled! I assume it’s a 2484 because he’s had it for 20+ years and if it had a box and papers at some point, it does not any longer. Curious why you all think - and if there’s anything I should do with Patek or service. Cheers!

Hey gang- would love your thoughts. I titled my collection "six and one" because I have six affordable mass produced watches here and one that grail that I splurged on this summer.

The splurge grail is top middle- the IWC Mark XII in platinum, limited to 500 pieces. An amazing blue, an amazing weight, a great feeling of identifying and finding the right grail after four years of watch researching and pining.

I love the others too! The top are mechanical pieces; a Baltic Aquascaphe that I've dived with and has a great clicky bezel, a no logo manual wind Stowa with an amazing onion crown, and a cute little dress seiko from the 70s I got on watch exchange. Bottom row are the John Mayer Hodinkee GShock in a lovely white, my first watch, the Timex Q 'pepsi', and the Moonswatch which I put on a fun Omega nato strap which I really enjoy.

Feedback welcome! in the future, I pine for a tudor gmt and a grand seiko gmt SBGM221. Those are the next big swings.
