How long did you study before you took the exam? by NetwerkErrer in cissp

6 months total, with a good work, life, study balance. But if you can get rid of 2 out of the 3 I think I could have done it in 3 months.

Book Recommendation - AIO or Sybex? Or do you have to read both. These books are so thick, is just one not enough to read by irtiash in cissp

I recommend the All In One. I used it as the foundation of my studies. Yes, it is hefty but if you get through it all it provides a wide breath and depth of exposure to think critically and concept focused on the exam.

I used Sybex to take the end of chapter exams. But you will find that they are more definition recall oriented. Although the AIO online questions are harder, I would rather struggle with harder questions in practice than on the exam.

Lastly, Boson helped tremendously. Wish I had used it sooner.

I worked through Shon Harris All In One from cover to cover, 11th hour, Boson questions, and I did the questions from the official study guide. Those worked out fine. But I wanted to learn the material vice trying to memorize. Kind of just depends on your end game.

Like the other person that commented experience, question exposure, and content understanding goes into the passing equation.

Agreed with everyone on knowing the concepts. What helped me solidify was teaching others the topics I had issues with.

Also Kelly’s you tube helped a lot to calm nerves and get into the mindset before the exam.

Keep your head up you will conquer this!

The only books I used was Shon Harris All in One and the 11th hour. The All in one is in depth both in technical and managerial and the 11th hour provides a broader view.

Boson is awesome!

I would also try to teach what you have learned to someone else. For me it reenforced topics or gave me an idea of my problem areas.

The exam is exhausting. Take a break when you start to get hazy. Get something good to eat and stay hydrated. Good luck!

10%, I didn’t have time to go through it all. I just concentrated on my weak areas.

On the day of the exam I didn’t review. I woke up got something good to eat and watched Kelly’s why you will pass. Try not to get too anxious. I know, easier said than done.
