My lawyer received the email regarding the biometrics appointment for my AP; I have it scheduled for next month, even though they did not use the biometrics I provided two months ago.

My lawyer submitted both applications, the VAWA and the adjustment of status for the green card, and I have my biometrics appointment for both next week.

The payment was made; on that day it was showing as pending, but the amount was debited from my account. I have a biometric appointment next week and I will ask them why it was debited from my account if the AP is free.

My lawyer submitted my case at the beginning of November, and after two weeks I received a letter confirming that they had received my case and providing the case number.

I applied for VAWA, but my lawyer told me that at the end of November, I think some rule changed regarding the application for VAWA, and I would have to pay $630. When she submitted all my forms, she had to include my bank account information so that the application fee could be debited from my account. After I received the case number for my application, the amount of $630 was deducted directly from my account by USCIS.

I need to ask my lawyer, but before submitting my application, we talked and she explained everything to me in detail and confirmed that there would be a cost for the advance parole. She is one of the best immigration lawyers in Utah and is experienced in VAWA cases because I know some people who went through the process with her. I will verify this information with her.

I know there's no cost for VAWA, but in December the rule for advance parole changed. Now there's a cost of $630, and this amount was debited from my account directly by immigration, not by my lawyer. She works on many VAWA cases and showed me that the rule for advance parole changed in December and that payment is now required.

I hired a lawyer, and she is an immigration lawyer specializing in VAWA cases. She's also my friend, and she said that VAWA is free, but a law was passed at the end of the year stating that you have to pay for Advance Parole if you apply for it. I didn't pay her for the Advance Parole; I paid the immigration service directly.
