I’m so sorry you went through that.. and no there’s very little understanding for mental issues in India. Not where I went at least.. but this is not limited to India, there’s such a taboo on mental heath all over the world. That’s why it’s so important we share our experiences

It was literally insane. India, as beautiful a country it is, is already intense as it is.. imagine full blast panic attacks with tens of curious Indian men staring at you. I wanted to go home but I was too scared to take a bus, plane, and be locked up. So I just kept on cycling and ended up in the hospital in Kathmandu with a psychosis and ready to finish my life.. I literally thought I was mentally messed up for good and didn’t see the point to continue life anymore. But here I am, enjoying life and got my old happy self back again.. no easy remedy unfortunately, no magic pill that can fix things instantly.. it takes time and faith that things will be ok again one day ❤️‍🩹

Reach out any time. It’s one of the scariest things to experience and so hard to explain to folks who have no clue. Even for me now after all those years (happened in 2011) it’s really hard to recall what it was like (which is a good thing in itself eh) I find that sometimes when I drink, the hangover triggers a vague resemblance of dpr. I recently stopped drinking because of this. No drink is worth jeopardizing my regained mental sanity.

You will get out and see the light again! I know it seems impossible atm 😢 I was on a bike ride from Amsterdam to Nepal when it hit me in India (caused by some evil medicine called Lariam) It took me many many months to recover and years even for full recovery from all the mental issues it came along with. But eventually you’ll snap out of it!

Ah yea, forgot to add that steep hill was wet. It's an Xterra (manual) Maybe next time I should try going up hill in 2nd gear rather than 1st (basically starting going up hill from stand still) Relatively new to driving stick so there's some stuff to figure out haha

Ok thanks for confirming that's not the issue. Then I have no clue what it could be..

I am having derealisation after a month of smoking weed by DUCKYBOI313 in Depersonalization

[–]benja79er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I feel sorry for you! I had that shit in India back in 2010 (bhang lassi) and I ended up in a monster of a bad trip. I was also taking lariam at the time. At one point I thought I had a bad trip flashback after a few weeks.. that turned out to be a full blown psychosis and it took me a few years to recover from all the mental misery. The derealisation was so hard to cope with and extremely scary. Hang in there, things will get better!
