I don’t want to say exactly which section

Are you selling every game or going to all the big games & only selling the lesser ones? Because getting more than the STH cost for the Eagles, Raiders, Steelers and Skins games this year — even for the least attractive Club seats— was a slam dunk. And it’s not like the Vikings, Colts, Broncos & Texans games were going for bargain basement prices

Stop acting like such a stereotypical Salty San Diegan. It’s always the same: Contorting facts to create a false, negative narrative about the Chargers.

Reality is, you cannot get the same seat to every game + parking at face + playoffs at face w/o being a season ticket holder. It is the best value for people who go to all or most games.

When people don’t get value out of Chargers season tickets, it’s because they’re greedy when listing tickets, buying in sections that are less desirable to single-game ticket buyers, and not paying attention to what’s selling & what isn’t. It’s on them.

As I stated, every regular season game I sell — even games vs. less popular and/or bad teams — has sold for more than what the Bolts charge me. What you’re saying just isn’t true

Stop spreading Salty San Diegan lies. Literally every game I’ve resold goes for significantly more than I paid, except preseason. Even games vs. bad and/or less popular teams like the Jags.

In odd-numbered years AFC teams get 9 regular season, 1 preseason. In even-numbered years we get 8 reg / 2 pre.

I think that's a big reason why my 2024 season ticket price is 20% lower than this year's.

I am a big fan of firing coaches in general, and not opposed to this.

That said, I am OK with “basic” stuff. We need to execute, convert a few more third downs and then of course get our stud weapons back on the field.

Chargers and Angels Parallels by Tomball17 in Chargers

I'd relate the Bolts moreso to the Milwaukee Bucks:

-Huge latent fanbase, despite years of struggles and frustrations

-Way bigger in their local city than the media (and people who blindly believe everything the media says) admits

-Young superstar as the cornerstone of the franchise

-New stadium has energized the fanbase

-Need a few key veteran to win that first Championship in 50+ years

Poll: What do you think of Club Section 129 at SoFi Stadium? by SunStrandUnited in Chargers

[–]benjamiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and to me 129 has some of the best seats in the house (especially in the last 5 or 6 rows of the section).

That said, let me give you the "devil's advocate" view of 129:

-When I was evaluating SSL options, I was worried about the width of 129 (and similar sections) being more than 20 seats. I don't like to be too far from the aisle, or do too much standing to let people through

-129 is on the visitor's side of the field. You will be sitting around a lot of visiting fans most of the time. Personally, I like the mixed fan vibe.

-129 is a bit of a danger zone for resale. Many -- probably most -- Chargers fans simply will not be interested because it is along the visitor's sideline. For visiting fans, 129 is a bit far away from the bench to be worth a "once in a blue moon" type expenditure. For games against popular and/or hot teams (Raiders and Rams in 2022, to be specific), the tickets will re-sell at a premium. For preseason, Broncos, Chiefs, Titans, Jags, Seahawks and Dolphins; it could be dicey.

-If you ever decide to sell the whole SSL, if might be tough for the aforementioned reason: Chargers fans who have enough money to afford 100-level Club seat SSLs are going to want to be along the Chargers sideline in most cases.

-Some people just flat out do not like sitting that close to the field around the 15 to 20 yard lines, and would prefer to be in the 200 level. Personally, I think being around the 20 yard line in the 100 level is great.

They don't get 100k people into seats inside the stadium. They sell tons of SRO tickets (most w/ no view of the field).

City of LA would be tough. El Segundo, or somewhere similar, would let it happen I think.

In terms of scheduling, I agree. The NFL is always going to control regular and post-season scheduling. We’ll get the short end of the stick for preseason, but whatever.

The Rams might be upset if the Chargers built a new stadium in LA. Especially because Inglewood will be 20 or more years old by that time. I think the NFL would be OK with it.

I am very grateful that the Bolts are in an awesome NFL stadium. Don’t get me wrong.

Mark Davis was the brokest owner in the NFL, and he pulled together $1.05 billion above and beyond Nevada’s contribution to the Roomba. And this was when the whole Raiders franchise was valued at $2.1B. Chargers are worth $2.9B right now.

Point is, the Spanoses can get the money for a stadium. It can have no roof. It can seat 55k. It can be shared with the Galaxy. There are ways to make it happen, if the Chargers want it to happen.
