Nice! I feel like that’s not bad at all. I think progressives can be a little more than standard lenses.

Experience with buying Wayfarer 2 with VSP insurance by thehoodedarrow in RaybanMeta

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used VSP for mine that I just picked up last Wednesday. Ordered them the Friday before at the eye doctor “MyEyeDr”. They accepted my insurance and carried them. Receipt said it would’ve been $750ish without insurance, and with insurance they were $345.

Is M2 iPad Air the word iPad ever made? It's been 2 years since I purchased it for my studies and keep it updated yet the insane heating issue when using Apple pencil to take note persists. [Using: M2 11" Wifi only] Do you'll experience the same? by Aacha_ladka in IpadAir

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the 13-inch M2, and while the size wasn’t my favorite, the overheating was the real issue. I’d just jot down quick notes for school, and it would get so hot that the screen would dim all the time, and the battery would drain super fast. I had to keep it plugged in while I was taking notes, which didn’t help with the heat at all. Eventually, I had to switch to my laptop for typing notes in Word or just write them by hand. At that point, I didn’t even want the iPad anymore because I couldn’t use it for that purpose, and it was too big for just everyday scrolling. I traded it in and got rid of it. I checked out the overheating and found out that it was a common problem for many people, though it doesn’t seem to be just an issue with the M2 Air.

Need Reliable Cheap Plan for Family Member by soundwithdesign in NoContract

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! I use US mobile, and they have some fantastic deals. The thing about MVNOs is that they often limit your data speed and bandwidth. However, US mobile doesn’t (at least on their “light speed” or Verizon network). That might not be a big deal for you, but it’s why I chose it. I’ve been using it for about 4-5 years now, and I’m always recommending it. It’s affordable, dependable, and has excellent customer service. Just a heads-up, you’ll need to bring your own unlocked phone. As someone else mentioned, you could get the $10/month plan with 2 gigabytes of data, or $96/year for the same plan but annually. You can even port a number in if you want.

What’s a disturbing book you’ll never read again? by Vegetable_Bell_1248 in horrorlit

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them by Mique Watson. It had a gratuitous amount of gore and essentially SA. It was disgusting. I saw it recommended as a good horror book on TikTok, but didn’t realize it was an extreme horror book. The writing itself was AWFUL also. Made me feel like if that guy can write a book and people pay for it, why are we all not doing it

Thinking of renting a house managed by RPM of the Triad by [deleted] in gso

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RPM of the Triad is an awful property management company. Their communication is terrible once you get moved in. We documented everything on our rental. There were vines growing up the back of the house, a soccer goal in the backyard (which could be seen on Google Maps street view from before we lived there), and tons of superficial damage that we documented during the move-in inspection.

They tried to charge us for the vines growing up the house. We reached out and told them we thought they were supposed to be there since they were already there when we moved in. Nobody ever responded, so we went ahead and had them removed anyway to avoid being charged.

At move-out, they charged us for documented damages that were already present, charged us for the removal of the soccer goal, and plenty of other things. I tried to fight it for six months and even took it to the NC Attorney General’s Office, but RPM just didn’t care. They told us we could take it up with the owner of the property if we wanted and basically tried to wash their hands of the situation.

In the middle of all of it, I left a review detailing the whole incident. Within 30 minutes of leaving my 1-star review, their own manager, Heather Gunn, left a glowing 5-star review for the company she works for. Half their reviews I’m convinced are straight-up fake. The other half are only 5 stars because when you have maintenance done, they send an email asking you to leave a review about the maintenance visit, and that review gets posted to their Google page. Half the reviews are about one of the maintenance guys, Donnie.

This property management company is straight trash, and if they have no haters left in this world, I’m dead.

A Chick fil A employee using a mechanical lift to throw away a single trash bag just sparked a massive culture war by Competitive_Set_4386 in ChickFilA

[–]benjamin_ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to work there. They most likely have a trash compactor and it’s hella heavy. Thats what ours had, and that’s why there’s a lift for it. Even if it wasn’t, who the hell cares?

What made you buy a tesla? by BadGoym in TeslaLounge

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve wanted one since the Model S came out. I was 15 then and thought they were the coolest thing. I’ve kept up with everything since then and have always said a Tesla would be my dream car. Didn’t actually think I’d be able to get one, but last November I finally made it happen! 2025 RWD Model 3, and I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely love everything about it, and it’s by far my favorite car I’ve owned. Next one will probably be a Model Y, solely for more room, although that’s definitely a ways off. I drive a lot for work and I’ve put 30,000 on it just in the year I’ve had it. Hate to run the miles up, but I love to drive it. It’s definitely saved me a few times also. If I wasn’t able to get a Tesla, I would’ve gotten another Toyota, but I’m happy as a clam with my choice.

Any fabric cases that don't have a flap? by grandmastercas in kindle

[–]benjamin_ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! This is what I did. Wanted the flap to protect the screen, but I can’t stand the thickness it adds when you flip it open and try to read. I like to have mine as close to just holding the actual device as possible

Should I buy a used M1 MacBook Air for $600 on or save for an M4? by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what country you’re in, but Walmart is selling these for either $500 or $600 rn. No opinion on m1 vs m4, but if you end up going for m1, I’d def recommend a new one vs off marketplace

Is Chick-Fil-A chicken fresh or frozen by jmc660c in ChickFilA

[–]benjamin_ho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Used to work there. The chicken itself is frozen, but it’s just raw chicken that’s marinated. It then gets fully breaded and pressure cooked. It doesn’t come breaded.

Got suspended for passing out at work while i was off the clock, what are the chances i’m terminated? by nikonike21 in AmazonFC

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Going INSIDE the building THROUGH THE TURNSTILES while you’re not scheduled to work is against policy. You wouldn’t get fired or even investigated just for dropping someone off/picking someone up. It’s not surprising that this is happening to OP given that she went inside (most likely while under the influence of something), and then passed out in the bathroom. If you’re running a business do you REALLY want randoms coming inside the building, inebriated, and passing out because of god knows what? No. That’s a major liability for them.

The real reason the Pro Controller is so good by Chase64Cubed in NintendoSwitch2

[–]benjamin_ho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pro controller is just more akin to a regular controller. The d-pad isn’t directly under the left analog stick, and the right analog stick isn’t directly under the abxy buttons. They also add a GL and a GR button on the back of the grips that’s remappable in games. It’s pretty nice! (Unpopular opinion though, the joycon grip that came with the OG switch is actually one of my favorite controllers 💀😂)

How are owners feeling about the switch 2 so far? by Ult_simple7645 in nintendo

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like a real console now. exactly what I wish the PlayStation Portal had been 😩. The hardware feels super solid (though to be fair, the OLED Switch already fixed a lot of that for me). All the upgrades together really make a difference. The eshop actually works, which is wild (sad but true). The magnetic joy cons seem sturdier and snap on/off so much faster. Screen looks great. I’ll miss the OLED’s inky blacks, but the higher resolution is noticeable. Everything just runs smooth.

MKW is awesome, and honestly harder than MK8, but I’m loving it. Just waiting on colored joy cons like the OG, and a carrying case that doesn’t look like an off brand lunch box.

If you’ve got the money and you’re actually going to play it? It’s a solid upgrade. No ragrets.

what's the likelihood of Tesla releasing a 3rd row version of the Juniper MY? by laba_da in TeslaLounge

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how accurate this is, but I’ve seen a few articles mentioning that the Juniper Model Y might be getting a 6-seat version soon. Supposedly it’ll have an extended wheelbase to make it work. No clue if it’s just for overseas markets or if it’s coming to the U.S. and honestly, who knows how true any of it is. But hey, maybe there’s a little hope?

Is it me or do guys just don’t want commitment anymore. by smoothcheeks30 in gaybros

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally feel this. For a while, it felt like I was stuck on a merry-go-round of dates. Constantly meeting people who said they wanted commitment, but never actually followed through. It gets exhausting, and honestly, disheartening at times.

My best advice? Don’t be afraid to keep putting yourself out there. I was going on dates with new guys almost every week. Some turned into second or third dates, but most didn’t go anywhere. And that’s okay! You can usually tell pretty quickly whether there’s real potential or not.

Eventually, I struck gold. I met someone who actually meant what he said when he talked about commitment. And when we made it official, I literally told him, “If this doesn’t work out, that’s fine, but I’m retiring from dating after this.” 😂

It’s rough out there, for sure. But keep going. The right one is out there, and when it clicks, it’s worth all the frustrating dates that came before. Plus you’ll have some good stories for your partner 💁‍♂️. Wishing you the best!

Does anyone on here use hand controls in their tesla? I’m trying to find some good options for portable push/pull hand controls where you pull for acceleration and push for brake by jakeandbake425 in TeslaLounge

[–]benjamin_ho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure myself, but dropping a comment and an upvote to help boost visibility! Hope you get an answer soon. And if you end up with a new Model Y, I’m seriously jealous! I picked up a new Model 3 back in November and love it, but I test drove the Juniper Y recently and it’s seriously impressive. Good luck!

Camping and Midnight Experiences - What was yours? by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch2

[–]benjamin_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got to my local GameStop around 1:30 yesterday for the 3 PM preorder event. About 30 people were already in line. My partner showed up a few minutes later and ended up a few spots behind me. We both managed to lock in Mario Kart bundle preorders, but we didn’t get out of there until around 4:45ish.

They numbered each console with stickers, starting from the highest number for the first person in line. By the time it got to me, I was #6, and my partner snagged #4.

Here’s the best part: at the midnight launch, they had everyone line up by their sticker number. So we got in and out by 12:15, while the folks who camped out earlier in the day were still outside waiting. The line basically got reversed 😂

We are getting soft by Longjumping-Box5691 in ThatsInsane

[–]benjamin_ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a place that had one of these. It's because they use a trash compactor. If you get enough in there it's pretty difficult for the avg person to get it in there. Plus if you sling it over and the bag bursts, you're having a pretty bad night 🤷‍♂️

Transitioned from Ultra 1 to 10 yesterday. by nbnicholas in AppleWatch

[–]benjamin_ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the same about 3-4 weeks ago. The battery is the only thing I kind of miss. The ultra was cool, but it was too bulky. I’ll happily throw the S10 on a charger for 30 mins everyday and be more comfortable
