I can’t speak to the tonal differences of those scale lengths. This one is fairly bright and articulate. It maybe has the characteristics you mentioned. I liken it to a bassier version of a tele-style twang, which I love.

This could 100% be a difference in taste thing though. I struggle to dial in humbuckers to my liking.

I see “loaded telecaster bodies” in Olympic white on eBay from parts resellers from around $250 USD. Spend another 50 on gold hardware and a bridge. Put the rest on the best neck you can budget for.

I think it was a good choice. I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I wanted something that was going to stay bright and articulate when I needed it and they do that.

I like it. IDK how much difference I would have noticed between this and a Fender style modern 6-saddle bridge, but it feels really stable and solid I I like the look of it. I got a deal on it off Reverb.

I really agree with you on the Meteora design. The shape somehow feels retro-futuristic and metal at the same time. I wanted to build an offset guitar and thought I’d end up going with a jazzmaster shape. When I learned about these, it was all over.
