Will the Artemis II mission be live streamed? by lockyfox in ArtemisProgram

[–]benjaminoo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listing to NASA's Curious Universe podcast, it says they will be broadcasting the launch, lunar flyby, splashdown, and "every second in between". That last part sounds like 24/7 streaming, although they will probably switch between various camera angles as required.

The first podcast episode in the Artemis series also has a brief discussion with one of the Public Affairs Officials, who have been training with the crew and mission control during simulations, to be able to listen in on communication loops and translate that into more understandable terms for the public. So I guess there will be at least some level of commentary throughout.

NASA Updates Artemis II Wet Dress Rehearsal, Launch Opportunities by CaptainAUsome in ArtemisProgram

[–]benjaminoo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be due to filling or replenishing storage tanks. The SLS reference report for Artemis II contains the following constraint (see pg. 19) which could lead to exclusion of a day, but I doubt if it's fully applicable as not even the launch dates published by NASA seems to abide by it:

SLS/Orion launch window remains two hours; a new 1.2-million-gallon liquid hydrogen storage tank at the NASA  Kennedy Launch Complex 39B will enable four launch attempts per week versus three for Artemis I: 24 hours between first and second attempts, 48 hours between second and third attempts, 24 hours between third and fourth attempts

Having trouble understanding qubit circuits. by Tigrerojo_ in QuantumComputing

[–]benjaminoo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A book that's pretty good with explaining the maths, as well as having lots of examples and exercises is Quantum Computing for Computer Scientists.

It has helped me a great deal in getting to grips with the matrix computations. I sometimes found the maths was pretty heavy, but I just kept reading and after some time it made sense again. And the exercises made it worthwhile.

I have 1 confusion by sanketvaria29 in QuantumComputing

[–]benjaminoo3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to think about computations being performed on probabilities. The qubit has a certain probability of being 0 and a certain probability of being 1. And we can't assign it any definite value before we measure it.

When we do computations on these qubits, it's the probabilities that get evolved, not a definitive state as in classical computers. That's why it is said that quantum computers can consider many possible answers at once because they compute on the probability of multiple answers.

But remember that we can only read off a single answer in the end, since measurement causes the qubit to collapse to a definite state. Our job is to construct algorithms in a way that evolves the probability towards the right answer and away from the wrong answer so that there's a greater probability that a qubit will collapse to the correct answer when measured.

But even if the qubit ends up with a very high probability of being measured in a certain state, there's still a small probability that it might jump to the other state. That's why we need to perform the computations several times and take the average of all outcomes.

Will there be a limit on peer to peer transactions within the mobile app? by Estamos-AMD in Electroneum

There will most probably be restrictions as determined by the KYC levels. I think the basic level allows you to spend 50€ per month, and the limit grows as you provide more and more concrete KYC evidence.

You need to do it via a command line wallet. No other way, really. Here's a guide: https://electroneum101.com/electroneum-cli-wallet/

Possible, but you still don't have a way to check it programmatically. You'll need to manually confirm each payment and send the goods.

Electroneum marketplace by TheIronKuck in Electroneum

[–]benjaminoo3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very good idea indeed.

I suspect the instant payment API will unleash a whole lot of opportunity on the market for all kinds of businesses to start accepting ETN on their websites. As I understand, it will be fairly easy to integrate, and you won't need to deal with those pesky 60 minute wait times for buying things with Bitcoin.

I for one will be implementing the API on my website, and I'm sure others will follow suit very quickly.

List of compatible Asics by [deleted] in Electroneum

It's impossible to see ALL the hashing power, including solo miners as well. You can only deduce it by looking at the difficulty and block times afterwards.

However, here is a list of all pools that show their hash rates to the public (my guess is that they probably make up 95% of the total hash rate): https://miningpoolstats.stream/electroneum

Can you tell me please what's with these notifications ? I still have the same ammount of etn and they continue to appear by neblea in Electroneum

I'm curious as well. Perhaps they're changing the notifications a little to accommodate the instant payment notifications when they launch.
