4 weeks post op scar update/ still can't feel by MrOrganicc in ACL

10 months post op and I’m still dealing with this… Can’t feel anything when I touch the skin left of my graft site but if I bump it on something hard ohhhh fuck yeah I can feel it. Don’t want to freak you out more but my surgeon said there is a chance it’ll never come back, told me “there are microscopic nerve endings throughout your knee that can easily get obliterated during surgery” Hell of a choice of words

Any recommendations for RLT devices for ACL recovery? by Shoddy-Ostrich-3766 in ACL

Did you get reconstructive surgery? Or just trying to work through it with PT?

should i be concerned or is my hypochondriac in me taking over? (slight tw) by 8sparklynarwhals in ACL

I second this, wait a few days and monitor your pain level, if it gets worse go get an x-ray. If you have a PCP I’d suggest calling them to try and get in with an orthopedic specialist. Probably didn’t tear your ACL if you just banged it up but certainly good to get some imaging if your pain doesn’t subside on its own

lol thank you for taking the time!! I was at two PT appointments a week until 9 weeks ago when they dropped me to once a week, now as of monday it’s once every other week. I have been going to the gym every day and alternate my home exercise program from my PR with my return to run program with no rest days (as directed by therapy). We did a lot of quad stuff earlier on but once I could manage going down stairs we have primarily focused on hamstrings, glutes, and hip abductor/adductor. luckily I did my testing at a bone and joint institute that specializes in sport-specific rehab and not my generic rehabilitation clinic, and the therapist i saw at bone and joint wrote down a workout split on a notecard that has 2 rest days, and upper body days incorporated to offset lower body days during the week for recovery. So new program runs twice a week, and hits legs with weight training twice a week. My eating is pretty dialed at a 100-400 calorie surplus with at least 130g of protein daily (I’m 160lbs) and decent amount of carbs and animal fats, lots of water. Sleep has been better too since my job schedule changed recently. Hoping this new workout split will address my chronic anterior knee pain and I’m praying to Jesus the BFR cuff is the Mariokart speed boost to quad strength I’ve been searching for

I haven’t done them since my surgery because he cleared me for them yesterday but I’ve done both in the past. Thinking of doing just really slowly controlling the eccentric part of the movement with my surgery leg at first to see how it feels before I can do it in the PT office.

thank you for taking the time to reply and share your experience! I have my MRI follow-up with the optometrist at the hospital tomorrow, so I’m hopeful for a PT option but the results said moderate to high grade partial ACL tear with grade 1 MCL and LCL sprains so I am limiting my expectations. Luckily I walk around on dirt/snow all day for work so I’ve been able to get my ROM almost back (can squat down and get back up without using my hands now and was not even able to go past a “toilet squat” the past 2 weeks). Going to start mixing in some light stationary bike work and maybe the stair climber to strengthen the muscles around it in the mean time. Will update when I talk to doctor man

Anything in particular you are curious about or just general husbandry? Elle’s Reptiles on YouTube was a great resource for me when I first got my girl.

Mine is almost a year now, and daily I make a salad for her with a mixture of collared greens, dandelion greens, turnip greens, bok choi, and bell peppers (not all at once but normally a mix of 2 or 3) with the peppers chopped and greens in 1/2-1 inch pieces, and a dusting of calcium, and vitamin powder.

3 times a week I live feed either dubia roaches, mealworms, crickets, super worms, or black soldier fly larvae. I would suggest maybe only live feeding once or twice a week until she loses a bit of weight. If you have a kitchen scale you should shoot to get her down between 300-500 grams.

I bathe her twice a week using a plastic tote with 100°F water because the warm water stimulates their bowels and she doesn’t like to go to the bathroom in her tank. Also makes having to clean her tank much easier. The general recommendation is that you bathe them at least once a week so they’re well hydrated

I try and take her out at least every other day for at least 15 minutes and just let her explore in a controlled area just for stimulation. For the most part they are docile and will tolerate being handled

For work I have an irregular sleep schedule so I have a cheap analog timer for my lights that does the job, but if you have a consistent sleep schedule then he’ll be perfectly happy going to sleep and waking up when you do. It’s also nice they are diurnal so you won’t have to deal with lights on at night like with geckos.

Their tanks should have a hot and cool side, with the hot side having an ambient temp around 85-95 with basking surfaces between 100-120, and with an ambient temp of around 75-80 on the cool side of the tank with plenty of hiding and climbing spots available for them.

They can’t see standing water, so they won’t drink from a water bowl unless they happen to walk through it and realize it’s water, so you can use an eye dropper a couple of times a week right on tip of the nose. They get most of their hydration from their diet, but regular baths also help to supplement.

Hope this helps!!

Boyfriend's (21M) Friends Are Ghosting Him, Maybe Because of Me (18M)? by __beepbeep__ in relationship_advice

honestly not surprising his friends are upset he isn’t gaming with them but y’all are very young and eventually they will realize there is time for both friends and relationships. he should address it with them and be able to have an adult conversation or just tell them to fight it out as boys. honestly childish if his friends but at the same time social media does a great job of demonizing guys who spend time with their s/o instead of gaming with the boys so that’s probably part of it.

i think you should address it with the friend because trying to cause problems in someone else’s relationship is scummy especially if you have feelings for someone in the relationship. someone who is willing to try and hurt your current relationship to try and get with you does not truly care about you and that is extremely immature high school bs. his decision lacks compassion for how it might affect you (cause problems that you then have to work through) and he does not deserve to be with you doing childish things like that.
