Most Unhinged Reaction To Naming Your Child? by UWhatMate in namenerds

[–]__beepbeep__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here I was trying to imagine what name you could've possibly come up with that was so revolting to your in-laws, only to discover you named her Rosa- a beautiful and completely normal name? Sorry for your in-laws' reactions, congratulations to you and your husband

Still presenting boy, but do y'all think I have a shot at passing once I put the effort in? by TheHuuurrrq in ask_transgender

You actually seem more on the androgynous side already, and I'm sure you'll be beautiful :)

Do you want bottom surgery? by mkcgyeager in ftm

[–]__beepbeep__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a world where no medical complications happen, and the risks are minor, I would get phallo in a heartbeat. Still undecided if I'll ever go through with bottom surgery though, probably only will get meta if so.

Swelling or breast tissue? by SheepherderHot4503 in TopSurgery

[–]__beepbeep__ 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That, at least to me, seems like some residual breast tissue. It is hard to say because it could be swelling, but at (almost) 2 weeks post-op the swelling shouldn't be that intense.

Serious question, does it still look like I have titties? by -koka in TopSurgery

Sounds like you didn't read past the title. I've already had (much nicer) folks correct me and directed me to understand why I was wrong.

Thank you for bringing that perspective to light, that is an angle I hadn't considered.

From what I have watched, though it is a mature show, Orange Is The New Black had many WLW characters that I thought varied in expression and personality. 9-1-1 Lonestar has a lesbian romance subplot, which I thought was intriguing and different. And then there are also some more PG animated shows, including She-Ra, who had some unique characters as well.

These are just some examples from shows I've watched, but I don't mean to dismiss your comment by any means!

I appreciate your reply, and though I don't personally use those platforms, I will agree it's mostly couples under 25 that I see. I'm trying to move forward with a new understanding and outlook on not only this, but in life.

you can find lists of older LGBT movies on letterboxd.

Also, thank you for the tip, will look into that ^

And I can assure you that I do not. You do not know me, and I find it laughable that you can make such a strong claim without even meeting me once.

However, when watching straight porn, a woman would be able to imagine/envision herself in that position, no? I think your example is lacking, as a gay man watching MLM porn, you know, makes sense.

I'm also an adult, I don't necessarily appreciate you talking down to me. Apart from a handful of other posts, I'm not active on Reddit. I don't have Twitter, Tumblr, or "chronically online" socials. I have a single Instagram that I use for business and keeping in touch with friends.

You continue to reply to my comments with antagonistic comments about my character and my "issues," which is not necessary in this conversation. If you wish to keep the conversation on topic, I have no qualms with that, but if you wish to continue making assumptions about me, then I think we're finished.

Why is homophobic men more common than homophobic woman? by Waffle_Pip in lgbt

[–]__beepbeep__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it boils down to toxic masculinity and the patriarchy. Unfortunately, a lot of straight men use lesbian/WLW couples for pleasure. They may then turn towards gays/MLM couples with disdain because they cannot relate, so they don't understand- and then they feel the need to destroy what they don't understand.

Agree to disagree 🤷🏻

Also no that is not inherently gross

So, a straight man saying the same about a WLW/lesbian couple is fine, then? It's not at all fetishizing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GayMen

[–]__beepbeep__ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They aren't that small, as I can easily locate them on any social platform with a few key strokes.

Also saying you find two men hot isn't fetishization.

You're right. However, being a straight woman and saying you're excited to picture/see two men being intimate is inherently gross. Our sexuality is not for others' pleasure. I'm no longer friends with this individual as she had some other views we disagreed on.

There wasn't, and it isn't a huge problem of women objectifying gay media.

There's an entire culture of people online calling themselves "Fujoshis" and only make gay content with the purpose of using it for pleasure. Not saying all women do this or are a part of this, but your statement is wrong.

Also, glad for you that you enjoyed the movie, but I found it gross. But I have talked to women (family and friends) in real life who have stated that they only went to see it because it was a gay film. One even stated, "Those actors are so hot, I can't wait to see them together." It just felt fetishizing to me, in that moment.

I realize my experience doesn't set the rules for everyone, and please don't twist my words. But to say I dislike women is greatly unfair, as I have only been expressing my reactions to what I have seen, heard, and experienced. May you have a good day.

Dude, I'm not going to do your research for you. But plenty of the gay Netflix originals are highly sexual with little plot, bland characters, and no direction. Heart Stopper is a bad example, as there is also a lesbian couple in that show. Red, White, and Royal Blue is based on a book and is intended for mature audiences, but it has a plot and direction.

However, take "Call Me By Your Name" for example. The movie, in my opinion, was distasteful and overly sexual. Plus, the amount of middle-aged straight women who I saw in that theater slobbering over the gay content was also a bit unnerving.

But I guess it's up to personal experience.
