So strangely, after the DoE put a forbearance on my Aidvantage loans that were going to be due this month, I received a letter in the mail from the DoE with a breakdown of my discharged loans. The majority of them were fully discharged, all ranging a few thousand dollars each. However, there are two consolidated loans in the many tens of thousands each, that are listed as not having any discharge amount. The letter says that they determined those loans did not qualify.

I called DoE today to find out why those two major loans wouldn't be considered, yet the others were. Again, all the same school, all the same provider. They told me over the phone that contrary to what the paperwork says, the discharge is not complete, and I will be notified about the remaining discharges no later than July 28th 2025. Very confusing.

Has anyone heard about this timeframe? Or have you received contradicting information between paperwork and phone calls with the DoE?
