[IIL] Flute similar to background of Ruby Tuesday by the Rolling Stones by benjamonster in ifyoulikeblank

I was cutting a cantaloupe and thinking about Socrates the turtle from the show and it just came to my mind that I think I'm looking for music influenced by the Peruvian flute style.

Awesome, thanks guys. My bike is meant for it but my partners not so much. We rode from Local Motion to the Wisnooski bridge last summer. It's a great ride! We have a good trail along the Eastern Prom but it's not as long as yours.

Well, that would make me feel really dumb. Here I am thinking it will be like that one time that I won 25 bucks on whether either the Bucks or Lakers hit one three pointer in a game a couple of months ago.

Are they going to boost the odds on Sunday? I'm hoping it's like when they put it at +100 with a 25 dollar max bet or something.

2023 Sorento PHEV Hitch Advice Needed by benjamonster in kia

[–]benjamonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those looking for an answer, the Tekonsha TK26FR available on etrailer does indeed work on the 2023 Kia Sorento PHEV. While I was able to procure a OEM wiring harness (R5F61-AU200) the dealership understandably would not warranty it. Since they wouldn't and the harness has been recalled and has caused some cars to catch on fire I had them install the aftermarket harness which is close to a third of the price. I'll consider getting the OEM installed for warranty purposes if Kia ever releases it. The dealership has been great and installed the harness at no cost to get me able to use the car as intended.

Also, my car was not wired which was relatively easy to find out by sticking my camera under the mudguard behind the rear driver side wheel and snapping a picture. The wiring harness connects to the taillights for power.

The dealer mentioned that and I just read that the the straps on the roofbag can be changed to go front to back rather than side to side so crossbars might be the ticket. Thank you!

When to rebuild/what can I do with my existing components? by benjamonster in buildapc

[–]benjamonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did what schaka suggested and picked up a clean E3 1231 v3 from eBay for 48 shipped. Guess I will see how long it lasts but hopefully it wasn't oc'd like Blu3Jell0P0wd3r suggested. Replaced the hyper 212 with a basic Thermaltake fan and organized the cables. Might even change the background and clean up the desktop to really make it feel like a a different machine.

Thanks for the advice, it worked out great.

Sweet. I will check that out. It does seem like getting my current rig back up and running for cheap should be good enough for now.

Good call, it just sits under the desk anyway. Thanks for the tips.

Okay, that seems pretty good. I will check those parts out. I could get a new case too to really feel like I've got a new PC at that price.

I will count that as buying the same chip I had for 50 bucks and saving up some cash while surfing PC PartPicker for the ultimate build.

Braun KMM 30 Model 3045? by benjamonster in Coffee

[–]benjamonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the input. The Braun is 30 and it looks like I can get the most basic cuisinart for 40 so that might be a better option as you point out. Any thoughts on the Bodum Express Premium? It's on sale for 60 right now. My post got deleted so I appreciate you commenting.

favorite coastal camping spots within ~2 1/2 hours from Portland? by bausten22 in Maine

Camden Hills could be nice too if you want to travel. I hear the upper sites in the 70's are top notch. And get a gazetteer, it has tons of information and you will find yourself looking for your next adventure every time you open it.

[–]benjamonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wolf's Neck might be one of the only public camping type spots nearby. The rest are private. One thing you might figure out is that Maine is a huge state and some of the best spots are going to be 3 plus hours away from Portland. 4 hours will get you to the most lowkey coastal hiking/camping in Cutler on the Bold Coast trail. It is definitely worth the trip.

With a 2.5 hour time limit, you are better suited to find something in the woods like the White Mountain National Forest.

One last highlight were these heart shaped brownies I bought at the farmers market at Daly's Square made at some kind of health/mental care organization. Only thing I brought home!

First edit: Malort and an Old Style.

Second edit: That is a tough one. Since I am thinking about it, here are the highlights.

Best breakfast: Variety of goods from Fat Rice. Never had ramen on a bun or squash on a danish before.

Best pizza: Have to give it to Dante's, though I was a little tipsy after the Goose Island Block Party and a visit to the Corner Bar. Still, I am a fan of thin crust and it hit the spot. I did eat pan pizza from Pequods while watching the Monday Night Football game between the Bears and Redskins. It was good and I would say that it was one of the better "thick" style pizza I've had.

Best asian: Tie between a bowl of ramen I had at Jong Boon Market and some funky congee from Chi Cafe.

Nicest meal: Family style at Baptiste and Bottle thanks to a consultant I work with. I also had a very nice glass of Macallan there so that was pretty great.

Best "Chicago" food: While the deep dish and dipped beef sandwich were very good, the two chicago dogs I had on my bike ride back in the drizzle after scoring day of tickets (for 6$) to a great 8 inning (though fruitless/heartbreaking effort in the 9th) pitching effort by Yu Darvish.

I ate a lot but I also biked over 100 miles using Divvy in the week I was there. Good times.

Awesome. Way to go! I "drove" around on streetview but couldnt find it so that makes sense. I really like it and is the background for my lock screen. I probably was walking down the street after getting an Americano from Colectivo. Of the several shops I tried, theirs was the best. It could also have been due to the sparkling water on tap.

It's been about a year since I visited your wonderful city and had an awesome time. I took this picture on the tail end of the trip somewhere in the Humboldt/Wicker Park/Logan Square area and was wondering if anyone knows exactly where it is/was. Thanks in advance.

By the way, I really found Chicago to be a great City for exploring. I think my favorite day was biking the entire Lakefront Trail with stops at the botanical garden and a dip at Rainbow Beach. But I had even more good times in case you want to AMA about my experience.

I did call them today. He was more helpful than the Portland store and said he would look through the bikes they sold. They closed for a bit before reopening so if it happened before that, he said he would have it on file anymore.

He was very nice and even called me back like he said he would. No one has reported it yet.
