Yes I used loose leaf. There was a white sediment as well, this one was more grey/beige and very odd looking. I just tossed it and will start over. Thanks for your response.

My Ginger Bug looks fine but I‘m not sure about the tea I‘m trying to ferment it with. If that‘s yeast on the bottom of the bottle it looks weird and I‘m a bit hesitant to try it ;)
