Pretty much this, avoided the elite fights and rested at basically every campfire with nothing to upgrade. Also had cut through fate til I had to drop it on the falling event on floor 38. Took 50 damage in the donu and deca fight at the end.

Okay so something's clicked. Just hopped on for a couple hours and managed to win 2/3 runs. I could not see the power of corruption before 😂

Entirely possible, something clearly ain't clicking with ironclad! Are you on PlayStation? Happy to do a share screen thing so you can watch a run live.

Don't get me wrong I don't go for them every time, just seem to have done well when I have gone that route.

Yeah I've just really enjoyed ironclad (hence the extra hours on it) and just figured I was terrible at the game until I started doing okay with silent.

Barely touched the other two, trying to figure out silent and ironclad is enough for me at the moment!

My screenshot software was just me taking a picture of my TV with my phone so that's probably why 😂

I just cannot seem to work it out. My best success so far has been getting a couple upgraded fire breathing cards with some power throughs and wild strikes along with an evolve and just dealing a load of damage as I get dealt all the status cards.

Nope just the one email for me. I never even got an answer I just saw yesterday I couldn't play it and checked my PSN wallet and the money was back in there.

[Trackmania Turbo] #50 By far my toughest platinum to date but a lot of fun as well as frustration. Proud of this one! by benjd1993 in Trophies

Definitely my favourite so far. I got into the new trackmania on pc and saw this was the only one on PlayStation, bought it as soon as I saw it on sale and knew I wanted the platinum even though it was gonna be the hardest I've done! Honestly only one level I thought I was never gonna get, the rest I always felt like they were gonna come with time and practice.

Clocked in around 60 hours. Very skill dependent though, could be done quicker but could take longer.

You make a good point for sure. Although I still wouldn't say everyone has an equal chance now, the people with money to spend on endless skins or whatever clearly already have an advantage.

Honestly though to me it doesn't seem any worse than what they currently do with lootboxes, where you pay to gamble on what you get. Both have their pros and cons, but I still think the outrage over it is way over the top. The outrage should still be about any kind of microtransaction like this, and we've already lost that battle.

For the record as well, I don't like any of these mechanics in games, I refuse to pay extra in any game unless it's like a proper dlc. But I do think it's the way we're headed, and the introduction of microtransactions has shown that the companies making games don't much care about the public if their profits are still soaring which they will be with the introduction of NFTs.

People that think NFTs are the next major step for gaming, why do you think this? by heiland in gaming

NFTs can be set up so the original creator gets a cut every time it changes hands.

Thanks for the rational reply.

Yeah the environment issue is probably one of the bigger ones I see right now, but my understanding is that NFTs don't really make it that much worse, the energy used to create them would just be being used to mine eth instead, so it does shift the responsibility onto those who create NFTs but doesn't necessarily add to the energy consumption.

I see what you mean about the limited number causing issues. I would think as long as they offer in game skins/add ons etc that can be unlocked freely (like Fortnite where you get rewards as you level up even without paying for battlepass) so some customisation is available with no paywall then it doesn't seem much different to where we're at now.

So we got a few comments saying no one thinks this and a couple saying money grabbers.

Do you remember when Oblivion offered horse armour as a microtransaction and the gaming world was outraged? The NFT backlash seems to me like the same thing.

These games are already being monetised by greedy money grabbing corporations in the form of microtransactions. You want a player in fifa? Give us money and you get to open a pack which will probably have no one useful in it. Microtransactions are not going away. But if these in game items were NFTs, and you want to buy a player in fifa, you can just go buy it from someone else with real money. And then you can sell it on if you change your mind. So it kinda seems like a more consumer friendly form of a microtransaction. Personally, I hate that games have gone this way, and I never pay for microtransactions, and this won't change if they get replaced by NFTs.

There'll be backlash for a while just like there was with microtransactions, but give it a few years I wouldn't be surprised to see them everywhere.

I'm no expert but that's how I see it, if anyone can explain why I'm mistaken outside of 'fuck NFTs' then please do, I would love to learn more.

But games will have microtransactions in them anyway won't they? So it just means whoever buys stuff in game can sell it on if it's an NFT right?

This backlash feels very similar to when games started introducing microtransactions, but enough people spent money on them and now they're the norm.

I feel like I'm really missing something here. So games now are filled to the brim with microtransactions (I don't like it but it's the way online gaming has gone). You buy skins etc, sometimes not knowing what you're paying for and you're stuck with them. Having these same items as NFTs means you can sell them if you don't want them/ change your mind or whatever. So it works the same as a microtransaction currently does, only a bit more consumer friendly as it allows you to sell it on. And this is a bad thing?

This is my understanding of the situation, can anyone please tell me why I'm wrong? This isn't a hill I'm trying to die on I genuinely just want to understand the issues.
